Five hundred and fifty dollar reflections!

I was looking for an old mirror, I do a lot of looking.. at five hundred and fifty dollars this wasn't the one! Seen in South Perth Antiques and Collectibles. The tall conical spotty things, antiquarian description :) in the reflection were French, I should have taken more notice! I love browsing antique shops but rarely buy in case it entices me back to my wicked ways of collecting.. does not fit in with my new minimal approach :) How about you.. are you a collector, and if so what can't you resist? Bon weekend, take care and stay safe...

  1. That's steep for a mirror, but it is a pretty one!

  2. I'd rather see my reflection in a shiny classic car.

  8. Now that´s some price for a mirror, Grace!
No, I try to take your path as well, I try to get rid of stuff.

  9. It is a beautiful circular mirror with a beveled edge. Hard to resist. I LOVE to shop but really don't need anything, although I yearn to get rid of stuff I've had for years and no longer pleases me. I YEARN for a minimal approach to life, but I am so undisciplined!

  12. I've been reflecting of late and have rid myself of some junk. Which was great as it made room for my growing collection of point and shoot cameras! Yea! I do love the mirror!

As for collecting, I only collect plush animals. And anything Minion!

  16. I've been a collector for as long as I can remember. I need to cut down but I can't bring myself to do it.

  17. Great shot. There are some nice things reflected in the mirror (which seems to be too expensive). I stopped...... I only collect papers.

  18. That mirror is gorgeous but, a little too pricy for me too! I used to collect all sorts of things but, the biggest (taking up room) was hand-made pottery. I have so many vase, urns, jugs and jars that it's crazy. I did get rid of a few when I moved but, the ones where I knew the artist were harder to part with. So, they are still here, all around my bookshelves. Probably the silliest collection I have are the little metal caps on the top of champagne corks. Whenever I try a new one, I save the little metal cap. Who knows why.

  20. Just looking at things can be difficult. But I try to minimize, only buy clothes and shoes and books...

  25. Those parakeets in your previous post are so colourful ...

I do like the reflections in this mirror, I'm sure you will be able to get a similar design at a slightly reduced price!

    All the best Jan

  26. I don't think I am a collector, but there are of course things I would like to collect. Oh, and you did a mistake here Grace, always try to get yourself in the shot when shooting a mirror, that is a rule you know!

  27. It does look nice, but too much for me also.
