CDP Theme Day... 'Smell'.

Maybe not so much a smell as a perfume. Ever since two French sisters walked into my class in high school, a subtle hint of L'Air du Temps wafting in the air as they passed, I've been hooked, j'adore! The first perfume created by Nina Ricci after the war in 1948, the bottle designed by Lalique, has been described as feminine yet modern, vintage yet elegant, I don't know about all that, I just know that without a tiny touch before facing the day ahead I feel a little déshabillé :) Very much looking forward to seeing how you have interpreted the theme.. happy Monday, take care and stay safe...

  1. This is an excellent take on the theme. The only problem is some people don't have enough sense to limit the scents they splash on themselves!

Actually, my problem is with the theme. It stinks! (Just kidding!)

  3. As a rule, I don't wear perfume, Grace. :-) I've got allergies, anyway, so almost any scent sends me sneezing. A-Ah-Ah-chooooo!!!

  5. I assumed perfumes would factor into some takes on this theme! Good one, Grace.

  6. Beautiful still life pics, Grace. I especially like the top one. I too like 'L'Air duTemps'. I rarely go anywhere without my mascara and some perfume.

  8. I wore it for years too, Grace! But so many people have allergies now that I tend to avoid perfumes.

  9. Pretty how you've dressed up the bottle.
It's nice to remember the fragrances of a former life. Today I'd rather smell cardamon than perfume. :)

  15. That first photo is outstanding, perfectly romantic and misty. I think my mother used to wear L'Air du Temps.

  17. My lass, before she ran off with a rich man, used 'Opium' & 'Poison,' both eminently suitable...

  18. I start sneezing if people go overboard on the perfume too...
Love the perfume bottles, they are all very sensual and beautiful.

  20. I have never tried this one, I like the Lalique bottle very much. I am in Tresor from Lancome for a long time now, after Issy from Issy Miyake. I feel the same as you, I have to have a dip every day to get ready for the day:)

  21. Knowing your favorite perfume gives me a clearer image of you, Grace, even though we've never met. I know what you look like, now I know your scent.

There was a time a woman chose her perfume early on and never changed. Today, most women have scent wardrobes. I have two, for the most part--one I fell in love with in college (when I heard Estee Lauder was going to stop making it, I bought every bottle I could find; thankfully, it was recently resurrected) and one light, inexpensive citrus scent I love in hot weather.

  22. Smells can bring back the fondest memories, so sad I can´t recall the perfume my Mum was wearing, Grace.

  26. Very nice!
I really don't like perfume when it excessive. However, there isn't much better than just the right amount, that makes you want to get another whiff...
