Grow your own rendezvous!

Every city has one.. a rendezvous spot! It's possible because of it's placement across from the Perth Railway Station that the sculpture by James Angus officially titled 'Grow Your Own' but now, after much 'I hate it/I love It' affectionately (?) referred to as 'the cactus' may or may not be our city reference point when people are meeting to catch a bus or take a train home. I haven't taken a shot of it at night before so took the opportunity when in the city last week. It took a while to appreciate it's  funkiness :) but with more and more young families than ever coming in to enjoy activities in the city, somehow it 'fits'! How much fun was it to see entries in this month's theme, loved it! Happy Thursday, take care and stay safe..p.s. not many in the water feature, too cold :)

  1. I dunno...the so-called "cactus" reminds a little of three girls in a chorus line. Not sure why. But I like it a lot.

    1. Quirky art reminding me of our Saguaros here. Perth is pretty cool. You guys have some cool stuff always happening. Parrots, color, the ocean and great art....plus some tasty vineyards outside the city? Oh yeah....on my list one day:)

  12. James has done some strange art in his time but I think this one is a bit OTT!! You make it look fantastic, love the night shots.

  13. I kinda grew into the cactus and love it - great pic at night, Grace.
Oh, I can´t wait till next time, bet much´ll have changed again when I come back! Perth is growing so fast, sometimes too fast. So I´m kinda glad "the cactus" likely will still greet me again :-)

  15. I can see why it would be a meet up point Grace. It is very unique and cannot be mistaken for anything else. "Meet me by the green cactus" could only lead you to one place.

  16. You are outgoing people in Perth, I can imagine it with the warm weather you mostly have, I see it now here with the heatwave going on, people sit outside everywhere.

  17. File it under" Well, 'it's different'. I thought they were balloons at first. Made of steel? Ceramics? Stone?

  18. A nightmarish but eye-catching landmark for a rendezvous place.

  19. Hi Grace: Re your question on Ocala ... the electric ones can go 15-18 mph, but the gas ones can go up to 35 mph. There are 80,000 people in The Villages now and most of them own at least one golf car. :)

  24. Now this is my kind of town scene to wander, enjoy and relax... and do some great people watching, as I'm sure this is where happiness overcomes everyone stopping by.
