Three hours later..!

Yesterday Sydney awoke after a night of wild storms.. three hours later, yes we are now officially three hours behind the eastern states as AEDT (Australian Eastern Daylight Time) came into effect from the first week of October through to the first week in April 2015.. Perth awoke to clear blue skies with the temp rising to 35C. I took these shots around 2pm, the heat haze steaming off the pristine white sand.. from the many footprints it was clear that only the hardy sun-worshipers remained. Thankfully it was an uncommonly hot day, it's much too early, we're still in spring after all :) Happy Thursday, take care and stay safe.. p.s. does your city participate in summer daylight saving? Perth declined!

  1. The basic and best colors: sea blue, sky blue, and white sand. Life (after the storm) is good.

  7. According OCDE (Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development) , Canberra is the best place for living in the world. You must live there nicely, I think.

  8. What a beautiful beach and those sun worshipers are showing off their great tans. It's interesting that Perth does not participate in Daylight Savings Time. Neither does Phoenix and most of Arizona. (Except for a small section of the Navajo Nation in the far north of the state.) We have a very similar situation here. During that DST time period, we are three hours behind New York and the east coast but we are the same time as Los Angeles.

  9. I heard of the flooding in Sydney, including the airport it seems. That's terrible... The beach here looks terribly enticing and considering I'm freezing, for once the 35° sound extremely appealing!

  10. We are still on daylight savings time here in Toronto for a few more weeks and when it changes it will be dark an hour earlier which isn't nice! 17˚C here this afternoon! Not beach weather.

  14. I had jet lag for a few days when the government recently stole an hour of my time. Ok, not jet lag, but I certainly I knew was getting up an hour earlier.

  16. Wow that's hot. Just a few more days to go and we come off daylight saving. Then we really know its winter. Leave the house in darkness and return in darkness. The middle of winter we are dar just after 3pm! not something you experience in OZ

  17. Lovely photos of the sandy beach, we've had really bad storms too here in the UK - I always love the calm after the storm, everything settles and leaves scenes like these. - Tasha xxx

  18. Far too hot for Spring, wasn't it? Those storms in Sydney were awful, just hope we don't get them in Perth too.

  19. Beautiful shots! We have daylight savings here, soon to end, but I don't see much point for it.

  20. I like the sun worshipper in the first photo. Hartford definitely uses daylight savings time, which ends in 2 - 3 more weeks. I am glad to have more light in the evening in the summertime.

  21. Beautiful pics! Though bathing in the sun... rather boring and unhealthy, no?
Yes, we do have daylight saving and I admit I love it.... But I guess in Europe it makes more sense, too, since our days in general are longer.

  22. Nice beach scenery! Those days are gone here. Winter is just around the corner.

  23. Looks great!!! In Oslo they had snow this morning. We who are living just on the other side of Norway have had a couple of mornings with +3C..... Time to use woollen clothes. We have winter time and summer time, the clocks change with an hour twice a year. In the winter it is dark from around 17.00 in the afternoon. In the summer we have fantastic light most evenings (and nights).

  24. During the night of October 25/26 our winter time changes one hour backwards until summer time March 28/29. That is in whole Europe now. You have very high temperatures now, enjoy!

  27. Cities have no say in it. Sweden uses daylight savings time as I guess does the rest of the EU. 34C sounds very nice. And that beach looks very inviting. We have had a few cold and rainy days, temperatures around 7C doesn't really do it for me.
