Red in the city VI.. Getting around..

Usually preferring to explore by walking when traveling, the only time I've ever taken a city cruise bus was when Aimee and I were in London, thinking that the best vantage spot for taking photos and experiencing the sights would be up top in the open. Oh la! We were unaccustomed and unprepared for the weather, it was soo cold our teeth were actually chattering :) Not likely to happen aboard the City Sight Seeing bus or tram in Perth where even in winter the temps are pleasantly mild. Below a travel triple!

Or if you're more into train travel.. Andrew,  you'll enjoy getting around and about from Perth Central Train Station in the city..

Don't forget these fab London look-alike taxis, every time I see them around the city and suburbs I think I'd like to investigate more, maybe one day I'll catch the train into the city and one of these little lovelies home :) Happy travels, take care and stay safe..

  4. Beautiful and interesting pictures, Grace!
I like especially the red bus, and well... the taxi also...
Have the transport companies of Perth made some shopping in London?

  6. I took one of those buses only in Barcelona, and it was great! I like to take the train too, in England it was a fabulous moment .I think these are good ways to discover a place .

  9. I love the double-decker bus! We only have one here--it belongs to the English-style Cheshire Inn.

  10. I like the openness of your train station.

  11. I've done the double decker tour buses in places like Paris, York but didn't do London. It always feels like a good way to get the lay of the land. I've been tempted to try the ones here at home just for fun but haven't yet!

  13. I enjoyed seeing the public transportation options in Perth and the bright red pops of colour.

  14. I've taken those sight seeing buses on my first trip to a city. It's a good way to learn your way around. When I go to London now, I usually get around by train and underground. On this last trip, I didn't take a black cab once. That's a shame because I do enjoy an occasional chat with an London cabbie. If I ever make it to Perth, I'll take that bus to get oriented with the city.

  15. Very snazzy trains...did you import the 'bus, or do they breed there (like eucalyptus trees in the UK)?

  16. Looks like you have a great public transportation system.

  17. Awww, Grace. Can´t wait to get off the train in Perth Central Train Station again!
Wonder if it looks like last time???
Never seen the busses, though, are they new?

  18. We now have a red top deck bus too. Must do the touristy thing sometime. We also have these bicycle tok toks too ~ my son has been on them and had a ball being 'chauffeured' around in casualness. Did I read about your white London cabs here previously, or somewhere else.

  19. Great looking bus. I've always wished we had such buses in the States, and good rail service.

  20. We have similar double decker tour buses here. And we have double deckers on some city buses, but entirely enclosed.

  21. These are great! I love double decker buses.

  22. The station looks great. I don't like the way the passenger's vision is impaired by window advertising on the rear side window. Public transport and taxis should have clear windows and not be covered over by advertising.

  24. What fun photos! I'd jump on that bus if I could! That taxi is a cute little thing too!

  25. I could imagine you live in Great Britain with the busses and taxi cabs. We have those hop on and off busses here now too in Amsterdam, it has become a world wide concept.:)

  27. I've never understood why huge metropolitan areas in the USA can't support all the these methods of transportation.

  28. Great transport shots. It not only looks like a London cab but also a London bus, but as you say , without the weather.

  29. My daughter and I enjoyed riding those buses in London, except in the rain of course! We were fortunate enough to have mostly sunny skies during our visit though. I like the look of the trains too!

  31. I've done a couple of tours on those buses when I get visitors. Those London-like taxis are becoming quite popular around Perth, I've seen lots of them!

  32. The taxi looks nice. I think I would prefer to walk around Perth, but maybe not when it's 40C.
