Emily j'adore!

She may be old.. historic even, but she's a beauty! I do have questions though.. for instance can Emily, out for her Sunday drive actually reach a speed of 60kms?

Where are the goggles and scarf flying behind.. that would have been so cool :)

Well that answers my first question.. passed, traveling at 40 on a 60 :) Btw. this was last Sunday, yesterday driving with the top down would have been disastrous! On Saturday we had the hottest spring day on record 34C, Sunday chilly, wet and windy, you can't tell me there's not something weird going on with the weather :) Hope you had a fab weekend, mine was a bit of a headache, literally! Happy new week, take care..

  1. He's probably used to people photographing him in his classic car.

  2. Love that old car, and I agree with Revrunner, he's probably accustomed to being photographed in that old car! Wonderful! Hope you have great new week -- with no headaches!!

  5. Headaches can be a right headache. Good luck with that.

There is a chap drives an old 1920's Baby Austin to work daily here. He has another also I think.
Several around. I doubt they go faster than 30 MPH these days.
What's this Kms folks keep going on about, what's wrong with MILES!!!

  7. She is a beauty. Not sure about the flying scarf though. You are aware how Isadora Duncan died?

  8. How cute is that? Sounds like your weather is as crazy as ours! We've been experiencing record humidity lately. You probably know this but, humidity and heat do not go well together. ;-)

  9. That is a beautiful little Austin 7, probably built around 1930. At the time it was the most popular British sports and economy car so there are a few of them still out there on the road. It would be a perfect ride on a nice day, but should be treated gently so it will last.

  11. I remember an old cartoon in which one of those long scarves got in a wheel. The driver may have good reasons.

  13. What a sweet old car! It probably only gets taken out on Sundays so it doesn't annoy the ones wanting to go faster... Hope your headache has cleared Grace!

  16. Fabulous. I was immediately transported to the London-Brighton Rally - which I should feature sometime. We still see a few classics on the roads anyway and they're always head-turners. Emily's a beaut!

  17. Daar zou ik best eens een tour mee willen maken dan zou ik mijn costuum ervoor aanpassen.

  18. Nice name for a car, a scarf would be posh, but dangerous. You remember that lady that got strangled by her scarf winded in the wheels of the car. It was a movie about a famous person but can't remember the name. .:(

  19. Cute vintage car and looks a beautiful day there!
I also like the name, a special touch for the car!

  24. Emily is very brave to be driving that car...or maybe the traffic around Perth is less frantic than what we have here. :)
