Catching minnows.....

It was the Darter sunning itself on the rocks that first caught my eye, but it was the two young lads netting minnows or other tiddlers that impelled me to take the shot. After the rainy day we had on Thursday, yesterday dawned warm and sunny and this seemed the perfect way to spend the last day of the school holidays. You'll be happy to see the careful placement of the fishing rod Ciel, cleverly concealing the young boys face :) What do you think, colour or B&W? Hopefully it will be warming up a little over there in the northern hemisphere, enjoy and have a lovely weekend..take care and stay safe.....

  2. Hi Grace - nice shot! I like both but I think I prefer the colour in this instance. Maybe because it portrays more of a sense of the fun the lads must be having?

  5. I'm surprised the bird would let the boys be that close, without flying off.

  7. Little kids do this all over the world. I like that we are not so different, wherever we are. You have caught the mood nicely.

  12. I like them both ways. Ciel has a very strict standard about faces, doesn't she?

  20. Great shot to get the children and darter so close. I have yet to try b&w photography myself. I will. Love seeing the comparison here. I am curious which you would prefer :).

  23. both are wonderful, but in this case i prefer the colour shot ... for me, monochrome means serious ... this is not a 'serious' subject
