Wedding dress and thongs.....!

Yesterday the search continued for the 'perfect' chair for my new desk, and yes..success!! On the way home I stopped at Hyde Park, mainly to see if I could get a few shots of the Black Swans, but not a one to be found! I did however on the way back to the car see a fantastic opportunity to 'shoot the shooter'.  I don't think this was a real wedding, I got the feeling it was some sort of promo shoot. You'll see in this sequence of shots that he was so busy snapping that he didn't realize he was right on the edge of the drop into the lake. I was ready for THAT shot! As I passed, I was just in time to see the 'bride' hike up her beautiful dress and reveal that she was wearing....thongs! Comfy, but definitely not bridal!
I looked back after I'd passed to see the 'couple' relaxing and the photographer scouting around for another location..It doesn't matter when you stop by Hyde Park, it's such good value, you'll always find something going on. Happy Friday.....

  3. I wonder if the photographer noticed you. Kinda funny he didn't realize he was so close to the edge. No black swans but you found something interesting to shoot!

  9. In the heat you're having, thongs are an option, lol, I'm sure there are very pretty bridal thongs to be had somewhere! Hope you're happy with your nouvelle chaise !

  12. Ha ha, good for the photographer that he didn't fall into the water, but that would have been a fun photo.

  14. must be a good time for weddings there. how did the cake turn out? and did you take the chair the 'bride' was posing on for your desk?

  16. Excellent. The subject matter is very interesting and the light and colors here are gorgeous. That would have been funny if the shooter had fallen back into the lake...well, maybe not to him, but...

I think I'd like Hyde Park a lot!

  17. You made me think of a photo my sister took of her granddaughter when she was in a wedding. She had this gorgeous, frilly dress on and underneath, boots!

  19. I think we have a difference of interpretation here regarding THONGS. I think you mean flip flop type shoes and not the skimpy undergarments that we call thongs here in the US! LOL

  20. Oh Darn..I was waiting for the thong picture. Where is it? Hahahaha..just kidding. The first picture has a profusion of vibrant colors. Really nice. No cricket being played in the park?

  21. Ha, funny. And re: thongs, in the US they're now called flip-flops, since the other thongs are underwear. I remember when I was visiting my daughter and the weather was still a bit cold in the spring. I told her despite that, I was surprised at the number of girls wearing thongs...she stared at me....and then we both laughed.

  22. haha, funny!
this park could as well be the public garden in boston. looks a bit similar! and there are also always photoshoots going on, often weddigs...

  24. Shoot the shooter is a neat title.

  25. I didn't know the word thongs and looked it up. I got a weird translation about some leather underwear.. Not so comfy I think, but there was also an option for flip flops, must be that I think. But I like your photos very much.

  26. aren't taking photos of a photographer fun! it's interesting to watch how other's get "that shot"! personal preference...no thongs for me!

  27. I am so innocent. I did not think of the non Australian meaning of thong.
