1905 holds up well against 2018 above! In the city yesterday I took so many shots before dashing home to arrive minutes before one of the biggest storms this winter.. just made it! I'm going to take a few days away from the blog to re-charge the batteries.. read a few books, enjoy the winter weather, you know how it is 😉 So a pic for each of the days I'll be away. The difference between old and new can be quite unsettling as above on King St. and below at Elizabeth Quay..
Blue wren painted by Noongar artist Peter Farmer Jnr at Elizabeth Quay..
The other side.. 'Walking the River' by John Walley..
....and this one just because I like the shadows on the stark white wall, the model shading her eyes in the glare of the sun.. sometimes an image just appeals right! See you back here on Monday in time for Sami's Monday Murals. Have a wonderful weekend, take care and stay safe..
Quite sharp contrasts in architecture. Enjoy the break.
ReplyDeleteGreat shots of the old and new! Enjoy your break.
ReplyDeleteAn interesting array of architectural styles.
ReplyDelete...wonderful images of a dynamic city! 😀
ReplyDeleteWell, you have left us with a wonderful assortment of images. I can't get over how much construction and how many new buildings are on the Perth skyline. Such a busy and growing city.
ReplyDeleteYou really compose some fine fine shots, G!
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your time off, Grace! Great pics today.
ReplyDeleteInteresting that the Lorikeets are small guys they look so big in your pic!
Very unique architectural styles and they all look grand. Enjoy your break and make sure you plug in to be recharged. :)
ReplyDeleteStunning photos each and everyone. Enjoy you week recharging, I need to do that a bit more often!! Take care Diane
ReplyDeleteThe man in the last photo ads to it, and I think you were clocked taking the photo.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your break!
ReplyDeleteI always enjoy your city shots Grace!
ReplyDeleteThe building from 1905 will always be great. The one below it is neat, and will still be for many decades if maintained.

What a nice series! Such interesting things going on in your city. I especially love your last shot. I love that kind of serendipity.
ReplyDeleteFunny kind of modern architecture. The architect must have a kind of plant life in mind with that petal-like protection of the tower.
ReplyDeleteYou have some very nice architecture there, I like it. Btw, the birds in the park are collar parakeets, green with a red beak. Sorry to miss you for some time, but enjoy the break, have a nice time!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful pictures. have a nice break
ReplyDeleteAquela arquitectura é fantástica.
ReplyDeleteUm abraço e continuação de boa semana.
