Pokémon Go..

After enjoying a quiet coffee and early morning views over the city and Swan River in the Botanical Cafe in Kings Park on Sunday morning we walked down to the city.. little did we know that by the time we walked back up a few hours later the park would be invaded by multitudes of Pikachu, Marowak and Magmars to name but a few. Fraser Avenue was lined with enthusiastic hunters searching to find, capture and train these 'pocket monsters' during the monthly Pokemon Go Community Day Event. I hadn't realized that Pokémon Go was still so popular.. what do I know about such things :)

Big thank you to Ellen who explained what it was all about and allowed me to snap her hunting and capturing skills! I couldn't resist turning to take a quick shot of Queen Victoria looking down on the scene, what would she have thought about it all.. she has a rather disapproving expression but the way I see it, it was a fabulous sunny winters day, at least they were all out in the fresh air 😉 Happy Tuesday, take care and stay safe..

  8. Oh my, I didn't know Pokemon Go was still on...however, as you say it does get folks out in the fresh air with their families and friends. So that's got to be a good thing :) I'm all for the coffee with that view :)

  9. So now you know all about Pokemon Go. You can then explain it to me. Others have tried and failed, as did explanations for Angry Birds and scoring in golf.

I think Queen Vic is enjoying the winter sunshine.

  10. My niece posted a video of a crowd of people playing this in Arizona last weekend. I guess the faithful are just waiting for their play dates.

  11. Oh, Grace, I feel so oooold right now, LOL :-) Pokemon Go really is still popular even in a city like Perth?
I´ll never get it! Doesn´t it hurt the neck to walk glued to that thing all the time (oh, have I mentioned I feel old?)...

  13. Yes I had the same idea that the Pokemon hype had gone over until I came along a group of people looking at their I-phone. There are still people doing it!

  16. I've heard of it, but I don't know what it is. I think it's kind of like hallucinating through your phone camera.

  17. I'm afraid someone would have had to explain it all to me too. In fact, your first paragraph above was like you were speaking another language. LOL You are right though, they were out in the fresh air getting some exercise so it can't be that bad.
