It was a big weekend! Special birthday for P and as he had a fancy for Thai food we booked into Long Chim, basement level in the restored State Treasury buildings in the city. Long Chim, adorned with the work of Thai graffiti artists, a small sample above, brings 'Bangkok buzz to the heart of the CBD' along with traditional dishes that renowned Australian chef David Thompson discovered 'during his many years in the Thai capital'. The food was indeed fabulous but even more so were the special guests that flew in for the weekend for dad/granddad's birthday, seen below heading back to Sydney after a hectic 48 hours. First dad and daughter trip away and although my adorable granddaughter had a wonderful time she was looking forward to getting back to mum and little brother 💙 I hope all is well with you, take care and stay safe..
Happy belated birthday to P.
ReplyDeleteWhat a nice birthday surprise, it must have been wonderful to have part of the family here. Great murals too, I've only seen the one on the top left.
It sounds like you had fun!
ReplyDeleteThanks for telling us about it, Dear

ReplyDelete...Sunday our 7 year-old Emma called grandma to say that she needed some grandma time and could she sleep over. Of course the answer was YES!
ReplyDeleteHello,
ReplyDeleteThat was a busy time. Congratulations with all birthdays.
Nice pictures. So sweet to see that girl with the fish above the fire. And so special to see her traveling with her own small suitcase.
Greetings, Marco
That is wonderful, Grace! Love the sentiment in this post and of course the murals!
ReplyDeleteIt sounds like you had a wonderful weekend full of family and friends and topped with good food! You can't beat that!
ReplyDeleteA very happy birthday to P. I had forgotten about David Thompson. I met him once but off hand, I can't remember why, when or where. Something to do with Thailand.
ReplyDeleteIt sounds like a perfect weekend & birthday. The State Buildings look beautiful and Long Chim sounds and looks good.
ReplyDeleteYou must have had a great weekend with surrounded by family and great food. The murals are excellent.

How lovely, birthday surprise and an exciting journey! I love Thai food, there's a yummy Thai restaurant near here. But no murals on the walls like you have.
ReplyDeleteHow lovely to see your family, a special occasion indeed.
ReplyDeleteI like the artwork, I can't call it graffiti. Your Grandaughter is cute, pulling her little suitcase like a big girl!
ReplyDeleteA lovely post.
ReplyDeleteFamily fun time is simply the best!
All the best Jan
What a fun birthday celebration, (one of my grand-daughter's just celebrated hers on our vacation too), and that last photo is so very precious! Happy times shared together.
