May all that view the statue in the tranquil natural setting of the scented gardens,
by the banks of the Swan River be inspired to meditate and reflect on peace.
Was it a coincidence after becoming hugely slightly disillusioned by the state of world affairs, that the first time I picked up my camera was to capture the sculpture of Indian spiritual leader Sri Chinmoy. I must have passed by this sculpture many times without even realizing that it was there in this peaceful, green setting. I was happy to see an offering placed in his hands, the more dreaming of peace the better :) Happy Friday, take care and stay safe.. P.s. the irony of my new header shot is not lost on you I'm sure.. after all my wittering on about how awful the new Elizabeth Quay
development was going to be, there it is :) Here's the thing, I like to
think of myself as a person who can own it when they might have made a
mistake and so far so good.. when the high-rise starts going up around
the quay normal bemoaning will ensue :)
Quite a sculpture!
ReplyDeleteKnow just what you mean about world affairs. Take heart as this too shall pass. Your photo has a calmness and serenity about it. Don't fret, have some chocolate. Remember a moderate amount of chocolate is good for you. Consider it health food for the soul.
ReplyDeletewonderful.
ReplyDeletebest wishes from bavaria.
Why must you be dreamer when it comes peace?
ReplyDeletenice picture and message of peace! ew
ReplyDeleteI had not heard of this gentleman before but it's always good to meet people who really care about peace on earth!
ReplyDeleteSo good to walk with you here. and to see the Quay! I've experienced the same thing: lamenting a project that I later liked. Such was with the late World Trade Center in NYC. Hated till it was loved, then missed....
ReplyDeleteWay to "own up", Grace. :-)
ReplyDeleteI recognized the Quay immediately but didn't want to mention it, Grace! ;-)) There is a local group of followers here of Sri Chimnoy who run a veggie restaurant that is very popular.
ReplyDeleteImpressive sculpture and it was placed in a nice peaceful location for all to stop and reflect for a moment or two.
ReplyDeleteI hope there will be peace on earth one day. But then again I am another dreamer.
ReplyDeleteSuch a quiet place of green foliage. Love the upturned face of the figure - as if always seeing hope ahead.
ReplyDeletePeaceful.
ReplyDeleteHave a great week end.
Finally getting rain and less than 35C days. Only prolem...it's courtesy of a hurricane. First in 11 years.
Great, Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteNice place to visit.
ReplyDeleteHopeful saying, Grace. World peace, that would be awesome.
ReplyDeleteI´m still not convinced of Elizabeth Quay being a good idea, though ;-) I am to find out soon!
There should be millions more people doing the same: thinking about peace
ReplyDeletePerfect timing for this post, Grace!
ReplyDeletei haven't heard of him but we need more like him!
ReplyDeleteGreat photo, great words.
ReplyDeleteLove the way the light works in this picture too!
All the best Jan
Haven't come across this statue. Beautiful words, I think most of us aspire of world peace.
