Came across the mural here by super talented Perth graphic artist Miles Noel when Aimee and I were in North Perth yesterday morning for breakfast. A skillfully executed representation of the history of the area on the wall of a building that since 1925 has housed a watchmaker, an electrician and Pal & Panther Motorcycles now Motor Cycle Pit Stop. I thought here was a code of honour out there, leave other artists work alone, a code that obviously doesn't apply to taggers.. it was upsetting to see this fine piece of work defaced by senseless tagging. Guess there will always be idiots out there without real talent, I think even I could have managed this tag! Happy Monday, take care and stay safe.. p.s. it wasn't me :)
Taggers who deface commissioned murals should be prosecuted and fined. Makes me angry that there is so little regard for the rights of others. Go get your own canvas, spoilers!!
ReplyDeleteI do agree with Kate!!! This total lack of respect for others work does make me so angry!! Go get your own canvas indeed!!! Hope you have a great new week, Grace!!
ReplyDeleteWhat a shame this tagger defaced this excellent mural. Unfortunately this happens the world over. Thank you for showing the mural.
ReplyDeletePerth certainly has some colorful murals!
ReplyDeleteGreat colours and design in this mural. Don't understand why the 'sorry' has been written there after the defacing. Surely the tagger wouldn't write that.
ReplyDeleteI hope the tagger doesn't think he's smart or artistic to ruin the mural.
ReplyDeleteTaggers need a good smack to the head.
ReplyDeleteForty or fifty thousand times.
Someone is sorry about it!
ReplyDeleteTaggers should be punished and fined if caught!
ReplyDeleteIt's totally shameless! Still a great mural though.
ReplyDeleteYep, I'll just never fully understand.
ReplyDeletethere's no honor among taggers
ReplyDeleteSad to see that tag.
ReplyDeleteIt is beautiful, despite the tagging. I don't know why people cannot resist doing that.
ReplyDeleteShame, shame, shame!
ReplyDeleteIt is a fabulous mural...I love the colors used. Too bad about the tagging.
ReplyDeleteI agree with you Grace. Where is their respect?
ReplyDeleteWhat a pity such a beautiful mural has been defaced...Shame on them!
ReplyDeleteSuperb mural, such a shame some twat had to spoil it.
ReplyDeleteChez nous c'est encore pire, il n'y a presque plus de code d'honneur, de respect pour le travail d'autrui, triste .
ReplyDeleteSuch a shame to see the tags. :(
ReplyDeleteA representative mural for those times and activities. It's a shame some people do not appreciate the value and try to destroy it.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful murals defaced, sad..
ReplyDeletea good work
ReplyDeleteYes, it is a shame to paint your stupid mark over another work. Did he wrote the word sorry as well? Stupid guy.
ReplyDeleteShame on him (or her). I think karma usually takes care of these people.
ReplyDeleteThe mural is fabulous, but such a shame to see the tags !
ReplyDeleteoh that makes me angry!! it was a great mural, until the dumba$$ tagger jumped in.
ReplyDeleteVery sad. How jealous must one dumbhead be to do that.
ReplyDeleteOh, thank you, Grace, now I have an earworm! ;-)
The word "sorry" and the happy face are just the final blow. I agree some talentless idiot.
ReplyDeleteYou have so much material in your great city!
ReplyDeleteThe worst bit is the "sorry'...
ReplyDeleteIt is a shame, but still one busy and interesting mural!
ReplyDeleteIn my limited experience, taggers tend to be 13 year old boys who rarely think before they act. Maybe later they will be chagrined at their actions. One can hope. Thanks for contributing to this week's Monday Mural.
ReplyDeleteThat looks like a super-near one.
ReplyDeleteSad to see graffiti on it; it has marred the mural.
