On the wall of the wonderful old Astor Theatre built in 1914/15 in Mount Lawley.. a mural in a similar theme to the work you enjoyed here last year by super talented Perth artist Melski, aka Mel McVee depicting the era of the trams running down Beaufort Street. I cropped the black and white shot below right in to give you an idea of the space now as compared to back then. How cool are the gelato colours and retro advertising on the old theatre! Hope your week is off to a good start, happy Tuesday, take care and stay safe...

This is high quality street art. Love it.
ReplyDeleteGreetings,
Filip
I like that. It adds visual interest to what would otherwise be a bland wall.
ReplyDeletethat is a great looking mural
ReplyDeleteStreet art is the best!! I like where the artist placed the mural. It adds to the overall scene. I love murals but unfortunately we only have a few in town. I'll have to inquire.
ReplyDeleteI like the last shot
ReplyDeleteHow wonderful and special to see it underneath those stairs. A great mural!
ReplyDeleteLooooove that last shot Grace. It's like being in a movie!
ReplyDeleteOh, a great mural indeed, Grace!! I do agree with William -- so much better than one more blank wall!! Hope your new week is off to a great start!! Enjoy!!
ReplyDeleteSchönes Wandbild ein wenig versteckt aber passt gut.

It makes a dreary location into something special, Grace!
ReplyDeleteIt's the Gelato commercial that really caught my attention. :-)
ReplyDeleteA very well done mural in a compact space. I like it.
ReplyDeleteGreat mural Grace and putting it in that spot was inspired, I think the stairs and image work well together
ReplyDeleteIt is a fabulous find Grace! I love how they tucked it in under those stairs.
ReplyDeleteI think the last photo shows what the artist intended with the view almost through a window. Very clever.
ReplyDeleteCreativity at the theatre! Great use of colors and a fine mural too.
ReplyDeleteAnother lovely murals from Melsky.
ReplyDeleteGreat history shown on that building, and the building itself is historic. Well done.
ReplyDeleteTake the cars away & the B&W pic could be back in the past! Great shots. Take care.
ReplyDeleteA very clever use of a space that would otherwise be dull. The artist has brought life, conversation and a story to what would otherwise just be ... well ... bricks. I am impressed by the artists imagination.
ReplyDeleteThat is a really classy place.
ReplyDeleteLove the hidden mural.
ReplyDeleteAlthough I don´t like sweets... I love the Gelato mural, Grace! Also the theatre is great.
ReplyDeletePerth has the best murals!
ReplyDeleteIt is very nicely painted, Grace, but a bit weird having it under the stairs.
ReplyDeleteI like how the artist was able to fit the mural in under the stairs. ;)
ReplyDeleteA mural under the stairway--what a charming find. Thanks for contributing to this week's Monday Mural.
ReplyDeleteThat's cool.
ReplyDeleteThis may be my favorite mural of all time. What a fantastic perspective!
ReplyDeleteThat is really nice. I like how the pattern of the open steps on the stairs, kind of matches the pattern of the train tracks.
ReplyDeleteNice pics Grace!
