I've always said dynamite comes in small packages, being slightly height challenged at 159cm it's become a bit of a mantra :) Petit singer/song writer/actress and so much more Michaela Burger
is dynamite in black velvet in Exposing Edith. Performed with multi talented guitarist Greg Wain the Fringe World cabaret show takes us on a journey through the highs and lows of Paris's iconic chanteuse Edith Piaf's life. Oh la what a life she had, much of it a mystery even today. As if the lighting wasn't difficile enough, Michaela's show closing, standing ovation rendition of Non, je ne regrette rien brought tears to my eyes.. in a good way :) I took too many photos to put on the blog but I would love you to have a look at my album from the show here. Happy Friday, take care and stay safe...
Hard to pick a favourite among these, Grace! Beautifully photographed!

ReplyDeleteStunning and beautiful!!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful images of this talented lady in action. Especially love the capture of her facial expression in the first photo.
ReplyDeleteThese are fabulous shots, Grace! ;-)
ReplyDeleteTes photos sont magiques Grace. The first one looks a bit like a Studio Harcourt pic... That's a huge compliment! :-)
ReplyDeleteWhat wonderful photos, Grace. Thank you for sharing!
ReplyDeleteAll of these are extraordinary photos!
ReplyDeleteYour first photograph is magnificent...the lighting is perfect! I read Edith's history, quite interesting and very edgy, apparently tragedy ran rampant through her life. Thank you for sharing your beautiful photography :)
ReplyDeleteStunning photos both here and in your album. You've really captured the show very well. It makes we wish I could have seen it too.
ReplyDeleteGreat lighting and images, Grace. When I get to shows like this, I'm usually in the back about a football field's length away. You'd need a telescope to get images like this. :-)
ReplyDeleteGracie! Excellent portrait photographs. And you always say you can't do them.
ReplyDeleteGreat pictures Grace, I particularly like the first one, it's a very haunting portrait...
ReplyDeleteWell done!
ReplyDeleteAll the shots are terrific but the 1st one could win a prize. You are mistress of your camera!!! GREAT captures.
ReplyDeleteFantastic portraits! You should send her the first one, she could probably use it professionally. :)
ReplyDeleteShame on me, but reckon that´s the only song of her that I know... Must´ve been awesome, Grace.
ReplyDeleteUnforgettable Piaf! Arianna
ReplyDeleteWonderful portraits! How long did you live in Africa? I love that continent, never lived there but visit as often as I can.
ReplyDeleteMust have been a wonderful evening Grace, tanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteOh Gracie... I know you were so sad to see her retire, but thank goodness you were there for that concert with your camera. The portraits you took are awesome. They make me feel like I was there with you. Hope all is well in Australia. I am freezing here in VA with more snow on its way. UGH!
ReplyDeleteWonderful photos, Grace. You seem so much taller than 159 cm, really you do. But I'm 157 cm so maybe that's why we see eye to eye on so many things. lol
ReplyDeleteGREAT images from a great event.
ReplyDeletePerfect in b/w.
Marvelous captures yet again!!
ReplyDeleteI'm doing a little catch up and had to stop here to comment on your top shot. Album cover image, I would say! Actually, it would be 'CD' these days, wouldn't it :).
ReplyDeleteI missed this one originally also. Remember Joan Jett? 5 ft (152cm) powerhouse singer for the Blackhearts? Good things come in small packages. Great exposure on the photos.
