“You can never get a cup of tea large enough or a book long enough to suit me.” CS Lewis..

“There was a teapot, in which Mma Ramotswe -- the only lady private detective in Botswana -- brewed tea. And three mugs -- one for herself, one for her secretary, and one for the client. What else does a detective agency really need?” Alexander McCall Smith, The No 1 Ladies' Detective Agency..

Tea tasting at Chapels in Maylands. My favourite is Earl Grey, followed by a silky Oolong but up to now the ratio has been all wrong.. one cup of tea to four of coffee, bad Grace! Things are going to change.. in my pursuit of a healthier lifestyle in 2016 :) that ratio will reverse. Are you changing any habits in the quest for a healthier year? Bon weekend, take care and stay safe.. p.s. the art below in Chapels just because I love it!

  1. The art's cool!

Earl Grey, English or Irish Breakfast tea for me. With an obscene amount of sugar.

  2. Not terribly fond of tea but I am learning. Life style change: trying to eliminate eat, eggs and dairy products from my diet. Very difficult.

  5. C S Lewis liked his tea and I'm sure you would have got a mug big enough, plus he could have read his mates book LOTR

  7. I love the No 1 Ladies Detective Agency books! I'm trying to cut down on sugar intake. I don't know how successful I'll be but, I'm giving it a try.

  10. On occasion I take a cup of decaf tea (Earl Grey) just before bed. Otherwise, my drink of choice is coffee...weak coffee...with sweet and low. It is good for me and I can drink a lot of it without negative repercussions.

I really like these photos - the tea sparkles as do the two ladies!

  16. The ladies in the paintings would do well to pursue a healthier lifestyle, methinks.

  17. My partner has done that. One cup of coffee in the morning and the rest of the day, tea. Tea at a cafe can be quite a elaborate affair in some cafes, coming in many different ways to be served.

  18. Love the quirky art. But I am afraid that coffee still rules in my world. Can't change that. Great line up of reflections in the first photo.

  19. I like earl grey too and my wife likes lady grey but right now in our house it's coffee that rules. Black would be the color :) Nice art to view while sipping some tea!

  20. I'm avoiding Zika bearing mosquitoes by staying put in my winter-locked region of the Mid-Atlantic states.

  21. Very neat Grace, I'm glad your switching your ratios. I have English Breafast brew from a glass teapot and not very much coffee. I like the artwork it reminds me of Beryl Cooks work...

  22. Hi Grace!
I'm not much of a tea drinker, but I really like the photo.
I also love the two paintings on the wall. Especially the one with the lady smoking what looks like an opium pipe. Not so much because of the pipe, but rather the colors.

  23. Love those ladies Grace! I too need to drink more tea. I love all but those fancy flavored kind or the herb kind made from flowers and such. Earl Grey black in the morning, different varieties during the day and plain old green with dinner.

  24. Well I'm trying to cut down on sugar, but so far no luck. I love tea though and this looks good!

  25. Here we go again. I have read all of the #1 Ladies’ Detective Agency books and adore them. Actually so the mini series on TV which I thought was pretty cute. I remember the teapot and the cups. I am a tea drinker and Earl Gray probably my favorite. My goal for the year is to stay out of trouble...hehehehehe. Have a happy weekend. genie

  26. I go for the Earl Grey in the morning too and a green tea in the afternoon and some coffees in between. I don't bother about health, I just enjoy the drinks. Nice photo anyway.

  27. I adore Alexander McCall Smith's books, he's so funny! I loved watching the No. 1 Ladies Detective Agency mini series too.
I don't drink coffee only tea, but prefer herbal teas (rooibos, mint, lemongrass...)

  28. Mr. Lewis must have had a very large bladder and a capacity for tedium.

  29. Earl Grey sounds wonderful to me...but I do drink coffee too. ;)

  30. My fav teas are "Apple Pie" and "Lemon Cake", Grace - totally artificial but yummy! Coffee only when Ingo/colleague R make me some. Cause it´s healthy, 2 cuppas a day. The art is nothing I´d hang in my place, but fun to look at in a café :-)

  31. I probably have one tea for every 20 coffees. They keep studying coffee and just about all of them come out with either neutral or positive results.

  32. nice reflections in all those containers. I don't drink tea or coffee!
