Since 1986 'over 40,000 young people have benefited from a life-changing ocean adventure aboard the Leeuwin II'. The original Leeuwin, Dutch for 'lioness', a three masted 'barquentine', was a Dutch galleon that back in the 1600's discovered and mapped some of the southwest corner of Australia. The Leeuwin II, launched in 1986 is WA's own tall ship and Australia's largest sail training tall ship.. beautiful isn't she! Check her journey's here. Maybe it's about time I had an adventure too, if only there wasn't all that deep water :) Would you do it? Happy Monday, take care and stay safe...
what a work of art
ReplyDeleteAhoy Matie Grace! Those are right fine photographs of the ship.
ReplyDeleteLove those old sail ships. Sometimes one will berth in St. Augustine for a bit.
Very impressive ship. A journey on that ship would be quite the adventure, one that you'll never forget :)
ReplyDeleteAh, what a beautiful ship!! A work of art indeed!! Great captures, as always!! Hope you have a wonderful new week, Grace!! Enjoy!!
ReplyDeleteIf it was just going to sail around the harbor I'm in. If it's taking to the high seas, I'll pass. Like you said, too much deep water. It is a beautiful ship.
ReplyDeleteNice shots, always hard to get such ships in the picture.
ReplyDeleteGo to sea on one, go away!
She is a beauty!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous vessel! Arianna
ReplyDeleteLike a giant version of the line island trader we lived on for 20 years! Nicely captured, G
ReplyDeleteIt's lovely, Grace! I'd probably be sea sick the whole time!
ReplyDeleteWe are up to -11˚C today and I've been wandering around without gloves since it feels so warm after yesterday!
'Tis indeed a mighty ship and great for sailing the seas. But I'll leave the sailing to those who have much better legs, you see! Great photos, Grace!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful looking craft Grace, wonderful lines....I wouldn't mind a day trip...
ReplyDeleteShe looks ship shape, Grace. I'd certainly go for a sail.
ReplyDeleteI would love to see her and see on board, but no, I would not want to venture far.
ReplyDeleteWould this include school at sea? I think that a trip on this ship would be an adventure.
ReplyDeleteIt is beautiful Grace, but I'm afraid I tend to get a little seasick, so no!
ReplyDeleteI would love sailing on a tall ship, but only if I didn't have to climb the rigging and go out on a spar to set or reef sails.
ReplyDeleteWhat a ship! I get somewhat seasick now that I am, "older", lol! I might have to pass on taking a cruise on this vessel!
ReplyDeleteHow cool is the prow decoration.
ReplyDeleteI would only do it if Captain Hook was on board Grace.
ReplyDeleteShe is beautiful!
ReplyDeleteI would happily climb aboard that beautiful boat whilst is was nicely tied up in the dock and enjoy seeing it sail by too. I'm not the best of sailors. Beautiful images, Grace.
ReplyDeleteIt is hard to believe they could sail over all those oceans with these ships in the past. But they still do I saw lately on television, but now for fun indeed you can join such a trip. No way for me either...
ReplyDeleteI love seeing and photographing the shups. Thet are very beautiful. But sail on one? No, thanks!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful, but no sail boat for me either! I would manage a short hour or so, maybe...
ReplyDeleteA cruise ship would be great though!
When I was at school we made such a trip - I couldn´t sleep well in all the up and down! But beautiful to look at, this one, Grace. One of my uncles was a naval engineer, built a boat, took his little family and even crossed the Bermuda Triangle - trust in his work he had ;-)
ReplyDeleteShe is a beauty, the last photo is fantastic, Grace !
ReplyDeleteShe is indeed beautiful!
ReplyDeleteShe's lovely! The water is so inviting too.
ReplyDeleteShe is beautifully alluring!!
ReplyDeleteIf I was 40 years younger. I like comfort now.
ReplyDeleteThat is soooooo totally my kind of ship! A beauty!
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful ship - you've captured some of the details amazingly!
