No loitering!

It's true.. but only if you overstay your welcome.. you know what I'm talking about 'ladies' and 'gents' :) My first experience with one of these time-controlled, self-cleaning public conveniences was in Paris, I remember it was a pretty desperate situation :) and as the doors opened and the occupant emerged, someone obviously even more desperate.. or just plain rude.. pushed past and the doors closed on my anguished visage! One thing you can be assured of when you come to Perth the WC situation is excellent, clean facilities abound. Come on now.. you really wanted to know that didn't you :) Happy Monday, take care and stay safe.. p.s. read the instructions, at least you get a one minute warning :) p.p.s found in Northbridge...

  3. I wish we had something like this here in the States! Public restrooms here--always in restaurants and stores--are deplorable!

  9. Actually, the murals are really quite well-done. Just saw a TV article on state of the art Japanese toilets. Guess the best thing to do is visit Japan to find out for myself!!

  11. Grace, I knew these loos were in Paris, but they are not anywhere I've lived. Love the illustration on the side. They do have their funny side. Good to know the loo situation in Perth is good. (Red Oz has documented scenic loos all over Australia. I've got her book.)

  12. A picture is worth a thousand words and translates in to any language. When you gotta go, you gotta go!!

  18. I fear those automatic toilets, makes me claustrophobic. I have never used one, but seen many other ugly toilets in foreign countries. Would you ever know in Ireland they have very low toilets, looks like they are made for dwarfes. Or remember the French two steps with a hole in the middle. I can write a book about foreign toilets! But these murals are very funny, you see immediately what it is made for.
