Gateway to the spiritual realms..

'Noongar spirituality lies in the belief of a cultural landscape and the connection between the human and spiritual realms. Everything in our vast landscape has meaning and purpose'.

You might not even notice the Northern Terminus to the Bibbulmun Track when you pass it by on Railway Road in Kalamunda as we did on Wednesday. It was here that we left P six years ago, that's me wishing him happy trails above, to walk the 1,003km scenic route through diverse terrain to reach the port city of Albany six weeks later.. a huge endeavour. If you are a real crazy keen hiker it would be well worth it to see vistas like these below. I loved the photos but I would never have made the distance! I know there are a few avid hikers out there, what do you think, would you give it a whirl? Happy Friday, take care and stay safe...

  6. I'm with you. I'd say goodby and then look for photo ops. Some gorgeous scenery there!

  7. It would probably take me 6 months. What an accomplishment!

  8. American Indians feel the the same way about their lives.
Love the scenery in that area. That's an average of about 15 miles per day. I'd give it a whirl. If it was flat ground, no problem. If there are a lot of elevation changes, it could change into something very difficult.

  13. I love seeing you kissing your honey goodbye. I had to do that for 10 years while Buddy hiked the Appalachian Trail on his vacations. Finally it was over, and now he continues to go back and rehire sections. You cannot get it out of his blood. Special pictures.

  25. I always wanted to walk the Appalachian Trail (eastern USA) especially after I read (in the Mother Earth News years ago) about a 65 year old woman who did it, by herself, carrying her "stuff" in a pillow case and wearing thin soled tennis shoes :) But alas no I won't be doing it...I'm too much of a coward :)

  26. Lovely pictures.
A bit cruel forcing him to walk several hundred miles however.

  27. Wandern ist ein feine Sache aber so eine Strecke wäre für mich zu weit.

  30. Is this like our own Appalachian Trail? Perhaps you have read A Walk in the Woods, by Bill Bryson and Wild, by Strayed? Probably the two most popular novels about it. But, Grace, you missed all the fun by not joining P!!
