Tin Tin in Perth.....

This is quite possibly the most depressing sign I've seen so far this year..I mean really!! It could be because my 'chirpy' level is a tad low, it was 38C in the city yesterday, with the humidity level so high it actually took the form of rain haha! It was seriously weird, the sky was grey, drops of moisture fell, but there was not an umbrella to be seen. On the plus side any TinTin fans will find a great selection in Elizabeth's Bookshop a 'quirky' bookshop in the city, can you see the 'floating' book to the right side of the shot, if he had been more attractive I would have included him, y'see just plain grumpy! The new Water Labyrinth in Forrest Place (brilliant feature) was a joy for children in the city, I think I can see two mums standing in there chatting also, nice one! Tomorrow I'm definitely going to be more cheerful.. peut-être! Have a good Tuesday, take care and stay safe..p.s. I should have mentioned that my Meerkat poser from yesterday was taken at the Perth zoo a while back in winter....

  3. Oh my Grace, 38C with high humidity is a lethal combination! Do your best to stay cool! Those kids (and the moms) have the right idea.

  4. With temps like that a fountain like that would definitely be the place I'd want to be!! Being originally from Texas and lots of HEAT is one of the main reasons I moved to the northwest!! Do take care, stay cool -- go sit in the fountain if nothing else!!

  7. Now it's your turn to be grumpy about it all ... I am wondering if I will ever sleep in a normal way again - it's 2am now and still so urky and muggy and then a charming 40 degrees today (Tues) ... oh well just hope there's something left of my garden!
    Stay cool ...

  8. Considering....I think you are doing pretty well. I smiled and enjoyed your post. Our relatives living Melbourne way are talking the same 'speak'. Cooler weather is coming and hopefully no fires!!!!!

  22. This fountain is hugely popular with the kids of Perth. Nice.

  23. This is my favorite type of fountain for play and fun. It works well for a photographer also (whether shooting or frolicking in the water)!

A belated bonne année to you and your family, ma chère amie!

  24. Maybe you should have joined them in the Water Labyrinth! Tintin can remove my grumpiness any day.

  25. Just as well I wasn't in the city or I would have rubbed the sign off the chalkboard, just joking. By the way, I just ventured outside from my airconditioning and the Freo Doctor is IN,

  27. I am with you, Grace - I haven't even gotten this year's tree down yet! Hoping to do that today - but I definitely don't even want to think about the next Christmas!

  28. I'd prefer hot to cold weather. I can usually find a way to cool down but when I'm cold, it's more difficult to get warm.

But the humidity makes it worse! You could, of course, put your camera down and run out into the water! :-)

    Who's Tin Tin?

  29. Oh, I meant to mention, that I agree about that being the most depressing sign ever!

  32. Tin Tin ... until i was in Brussels in 1999 i had forgotten all about Tin Tin ... the movie, if you've not seen it, was wonderful .. of course i am partial to 'cartoons' .. er ... animation ...

  33. And another thing, why are they selling 'hands' in that bookshop? Is it because they are 'seconds?'

    ReplyDelete
  34. Hi Grace! Re your question: Nope. But not wanting to remain ignorant, I checked Tintin out. Comic book character. I don't read comic books anymore. :-))

  35. The fountain looks very nice for the hot weather you are suffering from. The bushfires looked so scary on television here this morning. I hope you keep safe there.

  36. The fountain looks essential! I've heard about the fires down under...

There's a Christmas shop in my parent's former home town. I'm sure they've got the same sort of "this many days til" on the sign in their front window...
