Girls watching boys.....!

The sky and sea are as blue as ever,
the beaches pristine white..
but alas the grass is turning brown
With not a drop of rain in sight..

Just across the road from the Beaches Cafe, (yesterdays post) in Cottesloe is one of Perth's best beaches and the venue for the last eight years of Sculpture by the Sea, the 2013/ ninth exhibition is in March, looking forward to it. The colonial style building on the left is the Indiana Tearooms.. I couldn't resist the last shot, it seems to me that as long as there have been boys 'playing' on the beach, there are invariably girls watching them! As I've always been a bit of a night owl I usually post at midnight Perth time (now), but my late nights and early mornings are catching up with me, so from now I'm going to be tucked up in bed with my book (?) by 10 pm and will post at 8am Perth time, makes much more sense right! So I'll see you on Saturday morning! Happy Friday, hope it's a good one, take care....

  2. I love views of the ocean and beaches, something we don't see too much of out here in the desert. A lot of rocks and mountains now.

  4. Beautiful beach. The various hues of blue between the sky, open water and shoreline are wonderful. Have you considered scheduling your posts on a time delay? I usually schedule mine for just after midnight Florida time. I've never had a problem with it...and it makes blogging life a lot easier for me. Enjoy your rest!

  7. Haha, I'd be happily watching too! Gorgeous captures - what could be better than beach, water, sky and people?:) I'm a night owl too but also feeling the effect of post-Christmas early work wake-ups - 10pm tuck-ins with a book sound delicious!

  13. It is really cold here today - windchill of -25˚C so that looks lovely. I just got an e-mail from friends who are Freemantle until Feb 1 telling me how warm it is there - really rubbing it in!

  16. I am a big fan of beautiful beaches as I've been to most of the ones in Florida but we have only a very few with such gorgeous white sand. These photos look particularly inventing.

  17. And sometimes there are guys watching each other as well:) Beaches are such social places. Love the sea gull in the middle shot. Some people people watch....and some go to watch the birds:)

  18. Wonderful summer beach colours! In my world, yesterday shone with summer, but today, greys are spinning around on gale force winds! It's all so weird!

  22. Indiana Tea Rooms... I wonder if there is anywhere from Evansville to Indianapolis to Ft. Wayne you can get a decent cup of Darjeeling. This beach, however, is drop dead gorgeous. Indiana has beaches, vast dunes along Lake Michigan east of Chicago. Just rather different beaches.

  24. I don't think the girls are checking out the boys. They chose a place to be alone so they could recite poetry without being interrupted.

  31. Your beaches are nice. And they seem to be popular. Brookville, where I live in Ohio, has no beaches, no lakes or rivers. But we do have a creek with a big name, "Wolf Creek." So named because the wolves used to inhabit the area in great numbers.
