Just because I haven't been out of the house for a couple of days doesn't mean that there wasn't a lot of activity going on in my kitchen..Aimee, baker extraordinaire, was whipping up another fabulous creation, this time for my nephew and his wife who both turn 40 within days..I remember 40..just! I know there are quite a few 'foodies' out there that might like to have a little drool over this Black Forrest cake, this one's for you. I took this shot just before leaving home, I'll get back to you in a few hours with a look at the black cherry jam and
chantilly cream (with a dash of Kirsch) oozing out between the layers.....
A few hours later and there wasn't much cake left, it was so good! If you fancy checking out the recipe you can see it on Aimee's blog
Midnight Pie. Sorry I haven't been around much this weekend,
'mal de têtes' and computer screens are not good bedfellows, will catch up today. Thankfully it's a holiday in Australia today, another day to recover. Hope your week starts well, take care.....
Yummy cake, and a cosy place.

ReplyDeleteWow! That looks ridiculously yummy :-)
ReplyDeleteThere are MANY calories staring back at me from this picture. Good for her. You left so you weren't tempted to eat any, right?
ReplyDeleteBlack Forest cake is my all-time favorite!
ReplyDeleteDecidedly delicious.
ReplyDeleteGood food keeps body, mind and soul together.
ReplyDeletePlease have a good new week ahead.
Beautiful AND delicious!!
ReplyDeleteI have been craving cake so badly today and then I see this. What torture, I love it.
ReplyDeletePure sugar bomb. But it's good to be extra nice to yourself once in a while.
ReplyDeleteCherries and cream ... Oh la la ! send me a slice express post!
ReplyDeleteLooks amazing! A holiday treat.
ReplyDeleteWow, that is one scrumptious looking cake! I do believe I am drooling just a bit. I just finished watching a special about the Queen called "The Diamond Queen" and they were showing quite a lot of scenes from her last visit to Perth. It was fun to watch and think to myself "I know that skyline" I see it everyday on the top of Grace's blog!
ReplyDeleteI'd like to taste it.... I'm very greedy. A big hug from Italy where it's very cold.
ReplyDeleteErika
What a sensational treat. Looks delicious. Yum!
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness, that looks like a bomb in your stomac. Great your daughter is such a wonderful baker.
ReplyDeleteI think that you're making me pay for my sins by having me look at this untouchable feast. And it looks sooooo good!
ReplyDeleteNot a calorie in sight, either.
Oh, I was just wondering if a bird in Perth lands on a tree branch, would you say it was perching in Perth? And I suppose a pastor, up in a pulpit, would be preaching, perched in Perth.
OK, I'll quit now, as "gracefully" as I can.
oh, dear, i haven't had breakfast yet and now all i want is a slice of that cake!
ReplyDeleteThat is quite a creation. Nothing like that could be created in out kitchen, at least not by us.
ReplyDeletetold Aimee my birthday is coming and she can feel free to make me one and bring it here .. ;)
ReplyDeleteMy...that looks delicious! Unfortunately, if I had even a small bite I'd feel as miserable as you with a migraine. Glad you're on the road to recovery, Grace.
ReplyDeleteI do believe I've died and gone to heaven! That is my favourite kind of cake!

ReplyDeletehmmm delicious cake and I love those beautiful portraits at the background!

Genie
