Saturday squabbles.....!

Don't let the size of these two little Rainbow Lorikeets fool you, they were loudly demonstrating who is No.1 in the pecking order early yesterday morning. I took these shots at around 6.30am when the commotion they were creating caught my attention. The White Corellas had no choice but to wait (im)patiently until given the 'all clear' to land on the seed trays.....
..and then there was Mr. Grumpy Galah (yes, I have a soft spot for Mr. G), he wasn't waiting for any little jeweled upstarts to give him the 'go ahead' there is always seed thrown on the lawn especially for him.. I hope that you're having a wonderful weekend, it was party time for me last night, will catch up tomorrow. Take care and stay safe. p.s. check out what Bill calls 'cute' on his dive blog, fascinating yes, cute I don't think so!!

  3. Ha ha, those corellas are trying so hard to appear big and intimidating, and one lorikeet says to the other "they're all bogans, you know!". [Lorikeet says this telepathically of course - he would never speak with his mouth full.]
Of course you have a soft spot for Mr G. - he's a galah and you're a human!

  10. The birds you have in your yard are amazing. I'm not sure I would see them even if I visited an aviary.

  11. (That was just to show off that I know the word aviary.)

  19. These birds are remarkably beautiful, Grace. You are so fortunate to have them visit your backyard. I'd be so captivated by them I probably wouldn't get much done except watch them and take pics.

  20. Mr. G is very adorable - he reminds me of a real person I know, haha! I didn't realize the size difference between the Corellas and those lorikeets! Amazing bird captures today (and Bill's octopus was amazing:)

  21. The corella wings spread over the lorikeets are awesome! Like some almighty white eagle descending on some poor little critters! But those poor little critters certainly know how to stand their ground! Great photos!
