My first thought when I saw this little girl sitting in a hole all alone on the beach was 'awww! how cute', followed immediately by the 'all alone' ringing alarm bells..never to fear for the next minute she was surrounded by family who had of course, been close by all along!
Just a few last beach shots before I head off into the city again. Definitely all alone..sunglasses, earphones there was no doubting that this lady did not want to be disturbed, couldn't help wondering what she was thinking about to bring the hint of smile to her lips!
And there he is, the seagull himself, surveying the scene in the hope that the 'mob' may have left behind a few tasty morsels on the beach..and you can be sure that they would have, humans always do!! I don't know about you but I'm a little confused as to which day is what at the moment, holidays in the middle of the week can do that to a person! Have a good day, take care.....
Terrific captures of the beach and people!! And people watching is fun, isn't it?? I, too, would have been wondering what brought the smile to her face!! Such a lovely place! Hope your new year is off to a great start!! Have fun!
ReplyDeleteLovely gambit. What day IS it?!
ReplyDeleteAloha
I too often wonder what people are pondering when I see them -- especially someone with a hint of a smile. And, you're not the only one confused about the day of the week. Jeeze! Yesterday I kept thinking it was Monday. Thankfully it's already Thursday...crusin' toward the weekend.
ReplyDeleteHe saw a lot, didn't he?
ReplyDeleteAh, the seagull has wonderful views year-round.
ReplyDeleteVery lovely "seagull's-eye" views...all making me crave a bit of beach! I too wonder when people smile to themselves like that:) (Confession: I needed to look at your post date to confirm what day it was - well, it's one day behind you here - glad I'm not the only one!)
ReplyDeleteThe first shot reminds me of days at the beach with our kids. The seagull - well, they are ubiquitous and in spite of their whiny, grabby ways, I like them. The 2nd shot - she's very beautiful. So why is she alone. Whiny and grabby, maybe? I dunno. Just a guess. :))
ReplyDeleteThe 1st photo is terrific, Grace.
ReplyDeleteSo often I see people alone on the beach just dreaming. The sands and the seas seem to bring the dreamer out in people! I love watching how different people react to beach worlds! And adore the range of umbrella styles that emerge each summer! Gorgeous views in these photos! We have a super hot one today! At last it is looking like summer on my peninsula!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful sea landscape with those seagulls, the sand, those waves ... that breeze.
ReplyDeleteHugs.
They are all super shots....The seagull photo is fantastic. Hope he is enjoying 'people watching' as much as I do. You have a good day too and stay cool...it is hot out there I am told!!!!
ReplyDeleteBravo!
ReplyDeleteYes, I would have stopped and taken a view over the beach too.
The first photo is terrific. The second one indicates that it is not really a beach for children, with a very quick drop once in the water.
ReplyDeleteWhat a perfect day you've captured here.
ReplyDeleteLovely shots!
ReplyDeleteCool beach shots.
ReplyDeleteLooks like a perfect summer day! I can almost hear the surf pounding on the shore.
ReplyDeleteI like your observations of each image !
ReplyDeleteHang in there, Grace. The weekend is upon us and we will be able to start fresh on Monday and hopefully keep things straight.
ReplyDeleteAND ... not a chip in sight!!!
ReplyDeleteBetter than being at work.
ReplyDeleteYour great photos make me long for the beach, Grace!
ReplyDeleteLove those beach pix. The lone sunbather isn't a bad specimen, either.
ReplyDeleteI'd like to be a sea-gull today and fly away to somewhere nice & cool. I'm loving watching the tennis from Perth .. that new arena is top-notch.
ReplyDeleteIsn't the tennis in Brisbane?
DeleteWhat lovely shots - that first one is adorable.
ReplyDeletenice seeing beaches while here is so cold... Happy New Year Grace ! ciao from Italia
ReplyDeleteSeagull pic is best of all.
ReplyDeleteA lovely series of photos with story. I love Mr Seagull surveying the humans on his beach.
ReplyDeleteIt's good to be close by the beach. We people are very fortunate :)

I'm a bit confused to the day myself. Oh well, it will sort itself out be next week. Love those sunny beach photos. Even though our temperatures are on the mild side compared to other parts of the country, I still need to bundle up to keep warm. Seeing those people in the surf makes me long for at least 10 more degrees of heat.
ReplyDeleteBeautifully captured!!
ReplyDeleteWOW!!! Your beaches look wonderful. This is going to sound terrible but I think gulls all look the same but I've never seen this one before. How cool!!! Thanks for sharing your world and pics. Hope you are having a wonderful start to the new year!
ReplyDeleteThe seagull has a beautiful point of sight! Arianna
ReplyDeleteA beautiful story :-)
ReplyDeleteCool summer post. I know how hot it still is out there and I'm so sorry about the fires in Tasmania.
