Three generations, bridging the gap.....!

I like to look at fishermen
And often times I wish
One would be lucky now and then
And catch a little fish.
                                                        Robert Service
I went very early hoping for horses on the beach, alas there were none, I was seduced by this little scenario...three generations of fishermen baiting their lines. I don't really understand fishing, maybe it's a 'patience' thing..all I know is that if it bridges the gap for a while, it has to be a good thing oui! Taken at 6.30am on the beach at Pinnaroo Point, this early bird wasn't early enough to catch the horse..next time! Happy Tuesday, take care.....p.s. can you just imagine this little chap saying 'like this Dad?"

  9. In by experience, the lad is more likely to be saying, 'Dad, I've got a hook in my finger'. They are big rods for what seems to not be open water. Probably shows how much I know about fishing.

  11. I'm not a fisherman either but, I do think this is a wonderful scene binding those three generations together.

  12. This is one sport that families appear to enjoy together! I have always thought of fishing a s a "man thing"! But in recent years, I have seen many females getting out there and dipping the line! I'm still not convinced that this is my thing though!

  13. I don't get it either. Maybe fishing is a Zen exercise. You wouldn't dare eat anything from the waters where I grew up so there was no tradition.

  14. I'm not a fisherman but every sport fisherman I have seen seems content and at peace. So, up and taking photos at 6:30 a.m.? You are tough competition.

  21. Lovely family picture. I can't understand fishing either, to me it seems frustrating and stressful, but it appears it's actually the opposite!

  23. Very impressive, Grace, that you were up and at 'em by 6:30 a.m. I think for many fishermen it's not about catching fish, but just being outdoors relaxing. I'll look forward to seeing the horses some other day.

  24. Here it says: Every Czech is a musician. In Australia, perhaps says: What an Australian, a fisherman. But that's probably just for the coast. Ha.ha. Many greetings! Peter.
