The road trip that keeps on giving :) It was quiet when we drove into Bindoon, the last and smallest of the country towns on our trip that day. One of the biggest events here is the annual Bindoon & District Agricultural Show which has sadly been cancelled this year because of the virus.. that's a huge deal for a small country town, the economy of most of the country towns in this area is based on agriculture. Couldn't believe my luck as we pulled into the Bindoon Bakehaus, country towns always seem to have amazing bakeries, to see the gorgeous mural above by WA artist Morris Jacobs, the loved-up :) pair of red-tailed black cockatoos surveying the lay of the land..
As we were driving out of town we stopped for a quick shot of the Holy Trinity Church built in 1886 using local stone and timber and holding up pretty darn well by the look of it. Well that's the country for a while hope you enjoyed the trip. Happy Monday, take care and stay safe..
Nice with the plants in front of the mural, they fit in perfectly.
ReplyDelete...wonderful countryside, the church and graveyard are nice to see too!

The mural is very cool to look like. Looks like a good day for sure.
ReplyDeleteGreat photos, Grace. You got some really nice ones especially the mural, I love it.
ReplyDeleteYou found a fine mural with excellent detail. We always enjoy your photographic trips. Have a great week, and stay safe.
ReplyDeleteThat mural is gorgeous! I enjoyed your countryside trip very much. The scenery was stunning. That church is a standout. Makes me want to take a road trip...
ReplyDeleteSuch a great old stone church and mural.
ReplyDeleteLove the mural, Grace! It was a good trip that you took us on and quite welcome as we are still fairly locked down here!
ReplyDeleteAt first I thought the plants were a part of the colourful mural! It's going to take the economy here several years to recover from the virus, I think; everywhere you look you realise there's another problem.
ReplyDeleteThe old church is a beauty.
ReplyDeleteMost enjoyable. Thanks G
ReplyDeleteNice shots! That's a charming church.
ReplyDeleteWonderful mural, the cockatoos and the background.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful mural indeed, Grace.
ReplyDeleteYes, that darn virus causes a lot of damage, especially to "the small people".
What a beautiful mural Grace, love the plants at the bottom, they appear to be part of the mural. Thanks for participating.
ReplyDeleteBelas fotografias e o mural é espectacular.
ReplyDeleteUm abraço e uma boa semana.

ReplyDeleteWhat a pretty mural and nice tour you made!
ReplyDeleteWow just love that mural. Great photos. Cheers Diane
ReplyDeleteAh country towns, I love them. I was thinking only the other day how fortunate we were to get the show in here just before the shutdown. I love the little country church, so many times I have stopped to photograph them, though the tin ones rather than stone ones are my favourites.
