15680km to London.. or, a day in the life of a phobic!

That's a heck of a lot of kms. You can see how this might/does pose a problem for a 'flying phobic', blimey the 3284km to Sydney cause me enough angst, but more than worth it to see my Surrey Hills famille. A few random shots from Hillarys Boat Harbour. For the price of small house you could buy one of the offshore pleasure launches below for sale at the marina.. as I have a fear of deep water :) I'll stick with the bike!

Was a little curious about the strong current you can see clearly below, flowing speedily down towards and under the boardwalk where no boat can venture. what's that all about?

... and this one just because I like it, can you guess where Bellisimo Gelato I'm heading :) There always seems to be a mix of 'rugged-up' versus shorts and tee shirts whatever season it is, I take any opportunity I can to rug-up! Hope that you're having a wonderful weekend, take care and stay safe...

  1. Hillary's Marina is always good for wonderful photos. I can't understand people wearing shorts and t-shirts in winter....Brrrr I have to have my arms and legs covered in winter, and feet too.
I wouldn't mind one of those yachts, but I'll have to buy a Lotto ticket and win it first...

  4. I always like those distance signs. It would be fun to make one with distances to the places you like. I was just talking to a woman wearing a tank top, shorts, and flip-flops while I have socks and shoes, jeans and a T-shirt. It is the same here - it can be freezing out and someone will go by in shorts.

  5. Yes, it is long way. But didn't you say something about having lunch at Trianon Palace? :)

  6. A long way indeed! Quite an appealing area for a stroll, though.

  8. You have a signal, showing the kilometers to various cities. Great.
To London is really a lobg way, not good for walking :D
    Nice photos.

  9. Often in marinas like this I know that there is a deep channel to allow boats safe entry and exit. That would be my guess for the strange light colored water.

  10. I might not like flying, but I do like being elsewhere enough that I bear it. You can do it, too!

Gelato for me, too, when I am in Perth. Actually, anywhere.

  11. No boats or cruise ships for you, Grace?

  12. Great shadows. Perhaps the current is from a submersible?

  15. That last shot would be great for Shadow Shot Sunday 2 blog! That book about bloging a book is not much help to me....! I'm off to have a coffee at Locals in Yanchep.

  16. An interesting collection of photos. All those signs are so inspiring, but all I can do is dive for the travel websites and sigh. That stream in the water is odd. We get those odd streams in the bay with not a boat in sight. Often they are curved too.

  18. It's that time of the year, where some have heavy jackets and scarves on and some are just wearing tee shirts, shorts and thongs. I prefer the latter look.

  19. I always enjoy seeing those signs that tell you how far away you are from someplace else. I suffer from sea sickness so I am NEVER jealous of someone owning a yacht or small plane. ;) I don't mind traveling in jets though. And I'm always wearing more clothes than everyone else, mostly to keep my hands warm.

  20. What! No Directions to Canada? ;-)
    I like your photos.

  21. Ok, help me. 'Rugged-up'? Never heard this tern used this way. Heavy clothes? Dressed to the nines?
Deep water fears? I'd just be pretty scared of that confusing signage on the post. hahahaha

  22. Oh, I just love Hillary´s, Grace :-)
Yes, funny, can you see the current when you´re on the boat as well? I haven´t noticed it.
Love the shadows in the last pic!
And, yes, I think someone should invent beaming soon, I hate flying, too!

  23. I don't think I've ever heard the term "rugged-up" before. That water shot is interesting. I've seen that effect before and wondered about it. And, the shadows in that last show are spectacular.

  24. Aww the different colours of the water are awesome, beautiful! I also love the shot with the bike detail. I confess that I don't like the idea to be inside a plane for so many hours mainly when I go to Brazil... but we need to face it and it's better than by boat I imagine! 😀
