We live on the north side of the river five minutes from the coast so when we have occasion to visit family members who live well south of the river as we did yesterday, it's a little like trekking into the unknown. In actuality, if the traffic isn't too bad and using the freeway it's only a 45 minute drive. Yesterday there was an accident on the way there, thankfully not serious, which caused a hold-up but on the way back two hours later on the opposite side of the freeway, there was another which involved both ambulances and police cars.. it was too soon, it's not easy driving while crying. It seems like the drivers in Perth have gone crazy, or maybe it's just me. Please have a safe Sunday, take care...
Dear Grace, things will start to calm down for you eventually. There are so many fools out there in the world causing havoc for the rest of us! Enjoy your day.
ReplyDeleteSo sorry your new wounds have been opened again. Sadly there are a lot of crazies out there. Hopefully you won't meet many of them for a long while to come.
ReplyDeleteCes oiseaux-là ne volent pas le sandwich dans les mains des gens ???
ReplyDeleteEn France, quelque part, les goélands ne trouvent plus de poissons, ils volent les chips !!!
Oh, Grace, I do SO understand and having those wounds reopened so soon does indeed bring so much pain all over again!! My thoughts are with you and I'm sending lots of love to you today!! Take care!
ReplyDeleteDrivers seem to be crazy everywhere. Just from the local news: a mom was find drunk at the wheel with two young kids on board...
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry Grace, it's always going to happen because yes, some people just go crazy when they have a wheel in their hands... Especially in Paris...
ReplyDeleteGiven the circumstances, it's understandable that you'll have these reactions.
ReplyDeleteGrace, I'm so sorry. I've lost friends in freeway accidents...my blood pressure spikes every time I have to be on one. I'll go to any lengths to stay off them.
ReplyDeleteI hope this gets easier for you in time.
Lovely pictures, really like the birds, and I want to sail on that water (in a big boat).
ReplyDeleteIt's quite normal to react as you do, that is because you're a lovely lass. It will take a bit of time.
The only way sadly is to keep driving!
Well I don't know, Grace. The traffic here in D.C. is reputed to be the worst in the United States and there isn't a day that goes by when there aren't multiple accidents with all the attendant delays. I keep hoping our federal government will finally get its act together and pass a transportation bill that will fully fund alternative forms of travel. But that would seem to be a pipe dream.
ReplyDeleteTraffic..just too many ignorant people driving...
ReplyDeleteI'm afraid it happens far too much these days. It must have been very upsetting for you. Take care.
ReplyDeletePeople seem not to have patience anymore in traffic, always vaster to get somewhere. I am afraid it is a shortcoming in the western world, time is money, always more and more. So upsetting for you to have to watch another accident....
ReplyDeleteThat was a poor experience to have to suffer after your recent trauma and I'm sorry to hear about it. The city view with the blue skies is lovely.
ReplyDeleteLovely deep blue! Arianna
ReplyDeleteI witnessed a very fresh accident on the freeway this week, too. Cars could navigate through, not so trucks (I guess). No one was hurt, at least not the man I had to see, I tried to focus on the road after I saw three helpers had stopped. I just don´t want to see details.
ReplyDeleteThose few drivers who went through drove on extremely carefully. I wish they would always drive like that.
Knowing you have to have a decent distance to the one in front.
It's completely understandable to react to the sight of road accidents the way you did. I'm sorry you had to see two in one day. But, thank you for giving us two beautiful photos to enjoy this morning.
ReplyDeletePerth, such a beautiful city. You show it off well.
ReplyDeleteTwo good blue images. (Sorry about your traffic woes.)
