Mends Street Jetty.. from here to there!

A while back I showed you here where visitors to the Perth Zoo, or commuters who work in the city but live in South Perth, catch the ferry from Barrack Street Jetty over to the south of the river docking at Mends Street Jetty. So this is from the south side going back to the city. We didn't actually catch the ferry but it was good to sit and people watch on a crisp winters day while enjoying a steaming hot coffee. The ferry arriving below...

... not long before the ferry drops off and picks up new passengers..

....before heading back across the Swan River to the city.  The ferries run every 15/30 minutes and at $4.20 adults, $1.60 children return not a bad ride, especially since more often than not you could be lucky enough to catch sight of dolphins and the occasional black swan, pretty cool oui! Happy Sunday, take care and stay safe...

  3. I have always wanted to swim with dolphins but maybe boating with them would be nearly as good :-) Great shots, have a good day Diane

  4. Another thing our cities have in common, Grace. Although our ferries go across to the Toronto Islands which are mostly park and beaches but there are also a few hundred homes there. The ferries run about every 30 minutes and more on the weekend. No dolphins though!

  11. That's a nice place for people watching. For a little over $20 a week for commuters, it must be quite a saving for some.

  18. I only seem to take the South Perth ferry when I have overseas visitors. It's such a lovely way to cross the river into the city!

  19. What fun it would be to see dolphins! Worth every penny! Oh, you don't have pennies anymore -neither do we - so I guess it would be worth every nickel.
