There we were, the seagulls et moi! Alone by the deserted beach yesterday on a grey. gloomy day.. not even a dog taking it's human for a walk, which is unusual because whatever the weather there's always some hardy soul walking their dog! I enjoyed keeping these guys company for a bit, looking out to sea, the wind blowing away the cobwebs in my head.. they lost interest after a while, I had no tidbits for them :)
On the way home I saw that not only were the flame trees ablaze, when stopping to take some shots the trees were brimming with Rainbow Lorikeets, the noise was amazing as they flitted from flower to flower, so much nectar, so much colour.. not a totally grey day after all! Happy Friday, take care and stay safe...
Those lorrys brighten up the day, as do those colours!
ReplyDeleteHello! Like the angle you took on the bird photo!

These are beautiful!
ReplyDeleteThe lorikeets and the flame trees would have been a really wonderful assault on the senses Grace! and seagulls are like sunrises and sunsets, one could never tire of images of them. :)
ReplyDeleteOh Grace your red tree is so much prettier than mine and inhabited!!! I didn't hear a single sound standing beneath mine... :-)
ReplyDeleteBeautiful!!! Love the shot of the gulls!!! And what beautiful flowers...in your winter?!!!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great place! I'll usually feed the gulls if I have something in hand...I'm so gullible! Love those fire-red leaves and the beautiful little birds!
ReplyDeleteWalmart is a huge corporation with stores all over the world. They sell some brand-name things but lots of junk made in China. They have a reputation of treating their employees very poorly. I hate the place, but shop there on occasion as their prices are low. Which is good and bad. Walmart has come into many small towns and basically put everyone else out of business so the downtown areas become ghost towns. Aargh!
Rather a colour contrast between the flame tree and the lorikeets.
ReplyDeleteThe red really pops!
ReplyDeleteYou did find some beautiful colours on a grey day, a good day for photography. Like your angle of the gulls and the tree is amazing.
ReplyDeleteWonderful photos. I love that tree.
ReplyDeleteI do like the flame trees.
ReplyDeleteThat scarlet red tree is a spotlight stealer Grace.
ReplyDeleteThe flame trees are beautiful and so are the lorikeets.
ReplyDeleteHow nice to see so much red in the middle of winter!
ReplyDeleteTrees and sidewalks on FIRE!
ReplyDeleteah, I see that you are also putting your emphasis on the red element today !
ReplyDeleteBeautiful pics, Grace! Can´t really decide which I like most. Hmm, the seagulls, I guess, miss them/the sea... and it´s a beautiful shot!

ReplyDeleteAlthough it is a gray day, so it is good that it is summer because there is the color of nature.
ReplyDeleteThen, in the winter everything is either gray or white. (I'll give you some sunshine..)
I love the red color tree.
Colours brighten the gray days! Arianna
ReplyDeleteI've never seen the flame trees. Must be unique to Australia? All beautiful photos. Imagine a fray day you get these, what would you see on a clear and sunny day? Thanks for stopping by Ripple Effects. I've enjoyed your beautiful blog and hope this is the beginning of some mutual blog visits. ;)
ReplyDeleteWhat a colorful world you live in!
ReplyDeleteFantastic! I especially love your collage, what a feast for the eye!
ReplyDeleteSorry I've not been commenting lately but a tendinitis (shoulder + elbow) is forcing me to stay away from the keyboard as much as possible - repeated movements of the arm is all I have to avoid...
The flame trees + lorrys certainly light up the grey. Seagulls certainly like to pace your walk on a sea wall...if available.
