Last Sunday after realizing that I had the wrong weekend for the huge book sale at UWA (university) and not willing for it to become a futile trip we drove to Matilda Bay Reserve.. mainly for coffee because I needed it :) but also to take some shots of the city from a different viewpoint. Such a pretty spot.. sea vessels of every description moored just offshore, the city scape as a backdrop, you'd like it!
Looking to the right the walk along to the Royal Perth Yacht Club...
Perthites partaking of refreshments in the Matilda Bay Tearooms or picnicking by the Swan River.. I took so many shots of the black swans, might use them later. Happy Wednesday, take care and stay safe....p.s. we'll be back this weekend... for the huge booksale :)
The swans might find the kayaker less of a bother than a little kid rushing by on the beach. Beautiful shots!
ReplyDeleteA special day to be on the water with the swans, I would think. I have just checked out the map to see exactly where you were - I don't want to be lost whenever I get to Perth! ;-)
ReplyDeleteHeel mooi dat dit ondanks de drukte gewoon kan.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful swans...in a beautiful setting!
ReplyDeleteLove the swans!! Terrific captures as always!! Wish I was there to see them "for real"! Hope your week is going well!
ReplyDeleteLots of blue!
ReplyDeleteIt does look like a very serene place especially that little beach!
ReplyDeleteDreamful marine images...Arianna
ReplyDeleteI sure like that beach. just enough sand and a carpet of grass for your blanket!
ReplyDeleteI saw lots of kayakers when I was walking along the bay in southern California but, I think I saw more paddle boarders than kayaks. Paddle boarding is one of those sports I just don't get. All of these photos are so beautiful. You really do live in a beautiful place.
ReplyDeleteThere's just no end to Perth's beauty Grace, really. (Lucky us you missed the book sale!)
ReplyDeleteI'd like to sit and enjoy the view from that tiny beach one day.
ReplyDeleteI never saw black swans when I kayaked! What a fine relaxing post, G. Yesterday I saw some of your black swans doing something interesting: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bsiqdl6vsGQ

=^..^= .
I'm so glad you'll try again for the book sale. Wish I could join you as I also like to read. But wait! I DO have plenty of unread books in my stash. :)) I really like to watch the action in harbours anytime of year but I NEVER see boats in the water during winter!
ReplyDeleteMy goodness, everywhere you go in Perth you run into delightful parks and ponds and seas and buildings and bridges and beaches and... Love boats and water...not sure about black swans, but all of these photos are superb!
ReplyDeleteI like to see grass almost to the riverbank and no fences or barriers.
ReplyDeleteLovely Winter shots Gracie... I wonder what those Black Swans think about us taking over their river? There's a poem there - must go work on it. :-)

What a great way to spend the day.
ReplyDelete4th shot is my favorite.
ReplyDeleteKayaking with the swans sounds like a pretty cool thing to do.
ReplyDeleteAll good photos of the waterfront. The black swans have a good life.
ReplyDeleteAwww, such very beautiful shots again, Grace! Thanks for the nice start in the (now already dark again) Wednesday!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful blues everywhere.
ReplyDeleteLooks like a wonderful place to be.
ReplyDeleteGetting colder now??
Matilda Bay looks like a wonderful place to take a stroll. It must be much larger but it reminds me so much of our Albert Park Lake with its green shores and city skyline views.
ReplyDeleteHow beautiful. I do long to see a black swan :).
ReplyDeleteWell if that's what happens when plans go awry, you are a very blessed lady, Grace ;-) Fabulous!
ReplyDeleteThose are great shots Grace, love the first picture with all the different boats and the skyline and the swans in front. Perfect.
ReplyDeleteA lovely way to spend the day, love the black swans!
ReplyDeleteLooks like you had nice weather!
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely view.
ReplyDeleteThe black swans are great.
ReplyDeleteThe swans seem quite happy swimming alongside the kayakers. Maybe they like the company. And love the lighting and shadows in the second last photo. Great view.
ReplyDeleteVery nice shots and landscapes.Kisses from Italy
