Heritage gallery space...

Do you ever.. just as you are leaving a venue, turn for a last look and think wow! Especially in art galleries where the primary reason for being there is the art not the 'space'. I knew as soon as I looked down the lens that I'd love the light and shadows in this shot. Built in 1910 the heritage listed Old Perth Technical School on St.Georges Terrace is home to Linton & Kay Galleries one of the most elegant yet modern galleries in the city.. the predominantly contemporary paintings and sculptures are displayed perfectly in these beautifully restored rooms with their high ceilings. A definite addition to the 'to visit list' when you come to Perth oui :) Happy Tuesday, take care..

  1. Nice art gallery Grace, the building is beautiful, but I'd never been inside.

  2. Not only is it a beautiful space but, the art looks so interesting to me. I made a museum visit this last weekend too and yes, I did do a stop to look back even thought I've been there many times before. There are just some places that have it all put together perfectly.

  7. That's a huge wow coming from here. I'm wondering if I'll ever make it to Perth though. How long is the trip from CDG (Paris Charles de Gaulle)? ;-)

  12. Wonderful space and artwork Grace, thank you! I love the shapes created by the shadows! Our weather has been wonderful past few days and it's been delightful to see shadows on walls formed by the warm sunshine peeping in through blinds. Joy x

  15. The light and shadow toying with the patination and grain in the polished timber floor is wonderful Grace. A moment seen and then gone shortly after. I'm glad you turned around. I think it's one of those things we learn as daily photobloggers. Look ahead, side to side, up and down and the turn around. Never miss an opportunity.
