'Welcome to the Jungle'.....!
I took you on a trip around the new Perth Arena when it opened back in November last year. I'm happy to say that it's been a huge success winning high praise from all who have performed there, but for the Perth Wildcats it means a whole lot more than that! Since playing their first game in the NBL back in 1982 in an 800 seat stadium, the Wildcats have won the championship five times and, hopefully not putting a 'hex' on it, could well be heading for their sixth this year. Fans have been wonderful in their loyalty and almost fill the just shy of 15,000 seats whenever the Wildcats play at home! Aimee is the guest photographer for this post, she took these shots on Friday when the Perth Wildcats played the Adelaide 36'ers (highlights), winning after a close game 73/67 phew! Don't you think the red tee shirts look brilliant against the blue background? I had dinner with my 'skin and blisters' (sisters) last night, catch up today, have a good Wednesday, take care and stay safe.....

ReplyDeleteOh oh, excitement - beautiful shots from Aimee and love the faithful fans filling the stadium! May the road ahead be filled with many more wins. (Also, 'skin and blisters,' I love it)
ReplyDeleteExciting indeed and Aimee's shots are terrific!! I do love basketball!!
ReplyDeleteSuper shots. Worthy of going in the newspaper.
ReplyDeleteYou could become a sports journalist!
ReplyDeleteLooks like a splendiforous arena and kudos to Aimee - these are excellent sports photos (not easy to get). Love all the bright colors!
ReplyDeleteNice to see those big places in use. Several groups are trying to build a big place here in town, but they all want public funding for a privately run place.
ReplyDeleteThis is a nice looking facility. We have had some Australian players at the University of Connecticut, so I checked the rosters of the Wildcats and 36ers to see if any are playing in this game. Nope.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on the victory of the Wildcats!
ReplyDeleteWonderful Pavilion.
Hugs and kisses.
Love that top shot.
ReplyDeleteThe arena is enormous, and I am very happy that it is successful. I love the last photo...great team spirit!
ReplyDeleteTell Aimee she did a great job on these photos. I love the arena and I love a good basketball game and that sounds like it was a good one.
ReplyDeleteI love a good basketball game.
ReplyDeleteWow. The blue stadium occupied by a sea of red uniforms looks pretty spectacular Grace.
ReplyDeleteWaouh! j'aime ces clichés pris sur 'le vif', surtout dans le domaine sportif. Bonne journée à toi.

Excellent pics and you're right, the contrast of blue to red is brilliant.
ReplyDeleteI'm always surprised by just how American Australia has become!
Must be electrifying out there!
ReplyDeleteThat must have been exciting to be in the new hall and to see such a great competition.
ReplyDeleteI can hear my friend saying :" Nice legs" :)
ReplyDeleteThe image at the top is my favorite.
So modern beautiful Arena and your pictures are wonderful. My son is a huge fan of basketball and I'm sure he will love to be there.By my side I would prefer tennis! It's a dream for me to watch Roger Federer playing! :)
