They call it mellow yelo..quite rightly.....
Was this the universe sending me a message or what! Aimee and I pass Yelo every time we walk down the coast road, it's always packed with walkers, cyclists and beach goers in need of a coffee after their energetic pursuits and I've often thought about stopping but never have! Until yesterday. I was driving along the coast with a friend when Mellow Yellow (I dare you!) came on the radio, I took it as a sign, you would've too right! I wasn't disappointed. A super casual relaxed atmosphere, the coffee was excellent and what about that view, the Indian Ocean crashing onto the beach directly across the road, nice.....!
Said beach across the road being 'dog friendly', our canine friends are more than welcome in Yelo. Milo was 'rescued' fourteen years when he was two and no one wanted him, how is that possible, look at that sweet face! He's a wee bit old and 'achy' now his owner told us but still goes for a walk everyday on the beach..after a bad start I think Milo's life took a definite upswing! It was a mega hectic day, catch up tomorrow. Happy middle of the week, take care. P.s Happy Waitangi Day if there are any New Zealanders looking in.....

What a cute story about Milo and yes, that song sure was a sign :-)
ReplyDeleteCool website and now I´m hungry, too - craving for a pie, which is not available over here unless you cook/bake it yourself and we never managed the "right thing"...
What a cutie Milo is!! And that Schnauzer in your second pic looks just like my Sam!! What a beautiful place and looks like a great place to eat as well -- what a view! Hope your week is going well, Grace!! Enjoy!
ReplyDeleteWith that view, who could possibly resist a stop at Yelo?! It's a plus they're dog friendly. So glad that Milo is living the good life now.
ReplyDeleteIt was fate! What a setting, too good to pass up, especially with that sweet little pooch! Lovely story and a lovely moment:)
ReplyDeleteThis looks like a great place to stop and I must say, Milo is much too cute to be left behind. I'm so glad he found the right people to love him.

ReplyDeleteI think Milo has deserved a good life, he's so cute!
ReplyDeleteIndian Ocean?..it seems ssooooo far away on my map!
What a cutie. And drinking from a yellow bowl no less!
ReplyDeleteSo glad you were compelled to stop for a coffee. Great spot and so does remind me of places I have visited in Torquay, Victoria :). Great how the Aussie's (and everyone else) look after their four-legged friends.
ReplyDeleteI am now singing "mellow yellow" in my head. Looks like my kind of place especially with all the pups around.
ReplyDeleteDare all you like. I am not going there. Perth seems to have rather a lot of cool looking cafes.
ReplyDeleteNice place this Yelo.
ReplyDeleteMilo's Story is beautiful.
Hugs.
Right next to the beach ... Excellent coffee casual happy atmosphere and water for thirsty dogs.... I'm sure it was your cue to drop into " Mellow Yellow"

This is exactly what I like to do right now: Sitting at a coffee bar somewhere in the middle of ??? at the coast, a cup of (lactose-free) latte macchiato in my hands, and just watching the waves rolling to and fro...
ReplyDeleteIn lieu thereof I`m sitting at my office desk, watching the snowfall outside the window, trying to create a new presentation and waiting for lunch... ;-)
Thanks for your kind comment on my latest post,
Uwe.
That was funny you heard the song on the radio and bumped into this coffee bar.
ReplyDeleteYou have captured the ambiance Gracefully!
ReplyDeleteLucky Milo for being rescued. That certainly looks like a cheerful cafe.
ReplyDeleteI am happy that you got the message! Mellow Yellow looks like the place to be. We are headed out ...walking to the coffee shop here in Tubac...lots of catus but no ocean along the way...:(
ReplyDeleteThanks for the visit Gracie!

ReplyDeleteNow I have Donovan on my mind! :-)
