(Big) cat nap.....!
Yesterday after the Camera Market in Leederville we zipped into the Zoo to see if there were any new baby arrivals since our last visit. We were early, the first through the gates at 9am, maybe a little too early..Mr and Mrs King of the Jungle were flat out refusing to co-operate in any sort of photo shoot that involved...waking up! Mr KotJ's eyes were flickering and I couldn't help wondering if he was dreaming about roaming free on the African Savannah, probably not as he probably never has, sort of sad really! Hope you've had a good weekend and are amped for the new week, take care and stay safe. p.s. there was a new baby Gibbon, show you tomorrow.....

I do love the lions!! They do look pretty laid back, don't they!! Not offering any photo ops, but you got great shots of sleeping lions -- how often does that happen!! Have a good week, Grace!! Enjoy!
ReplyDeleteYa, but notice. There's 'cracked' eye. Always on the lookout... for dinner?
ReplyDeleteThey really look like big cats while they're sleeping. But are they really sleeping?.. I see this eye, opened, and that makes me careful!:o)
ReplyDeleteI wish you a good new week!
Great captures! Arianna
ReplyDeleteWonderful images Grace...
ReplyDeleteI think, like the cats we're used to, that on some level they're always listening. They can rouse themselves very quickly.
ReplyDeleteI'm a bit ambivalent about zoos. If they give the animals some space, something to occupy their attention, it's better than the old ones that had concrete pens and cages, at least. Still, better to see them out in nature.
They are magnificent cats! Thanks for sharing the pics!
WOW...these shots are very nice Grace
ReplyDeleteGreetings, Joop
Oh, good grief! These are superb photos! They almost look like you could snuggle up and pet them. I'm not recommending doing that, however! :-)
ReplyDeleteRe your question on The Villages: As I recall, that's the entrance door to The Villages sales office in Lake Sumter Landing.
Have a great week ahead!
Gosh you thrill. What shots my fellow 25 yr old:-)
ReplyDeleteAloha, Mate
Awesome pictures!
ReplyDeleteOne of the most wonderful pictures I've ever seen of a lion. (Lioness pretty good too.)
ReplyDeleteBrilliant shots, Grace! I bet they could be on the move in a millisecond if necessary.
ReplyDeleteMagnificent creatures Grace!
ReplyDeleteTo Anonymous Steve the Spammer: do the world a favour. Go play in rush hour traffic.
ReplyDeleteThey are absolutely magnificent, I love the detail you captured, including that slightly open lion's eye! He's watching right back! Gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteI love the big cats, the small cats too, and captured them beautifully.
ReplyDeleteThese animals are so beautiful. They really are enjoy a bit of a snooze.
ReplyDeleteWouldn't hurt a fly.
ReplyDeleteThey're making me sleepy.
ReplyDeleteThese guys probably sleep ten times as much as they are active and alert. What a life!
ReplyDeletePhoto impressionnante. Plus facile à photographier dans un zoo que dans la nature. J'en ai fait l'expérience en Namibie. Bientôt sur le blog.
ReplyDeleteHere, kitty, kitty, kitty....
ReplyDeleteIt looks the King of the Jungle doesn't have a care in the world. Fabulous close ups Grace.
ReplyDeleteYou weren't too early. They sleep most of the time.
ReplyDeleteohmyCAT, looks a delicious nap there!
ReplyDeleteyou got adorable portraits, safe they were sleeping!

Léia
