Capture the Colour.....

I have been invited by my blog 'ami' Virginia who creates one of my favourite Paris blogs Paris through my Lens to enter, as she has, the Travel Supermarkets Capture the Colour photography contest.  Each entry posts five photographs featuring the colors red, blue, yellow, green and white.  In addition you then invite five other bloggers to participate.  So here are my five images starting with....

BLUE
The Crawley Edge Boathouse is probably one of the most photographed sights in Perth, and yet it wasn't until I started a blog about the beauty of Perth that I took my first shot of it, that expression 'right under your nose' comes to mind.....

YELLOW
Taken on a 37C summer evening as the sun was setting on Burns Beach, could there be a better way to end such a day.....?

GREEN
The saying 'boxing kangaroos' and Australia are synonymous, but to actually witness and take photos  of an actual 'match' is an extraordinarily surreal experience.....

 WHITE
This one is special to me because it was the first time I was actually the 'official' wedding photographer, the nerves were strung out to the max, but it went well and all were happy with the results, phew.....!

RED
While one Flame Tree is a colourful sight, a tree lined street is a true delight. I really enjoyed that the lamp bases were red also, how perfectly obliging.....

Now to invite 5 bloggers who may choose to join the contest:

Rae at Perth and other Places
Rob and Mandy at Barcelona Daily Photo
Ciel at Versailles Daily Photo
Bob at St. Louis Daily Photo
Dianne at Adelaide and Beyond

I hope you all had a wonderful weekend and are all set for another week, what do you think of my 'face lift' haha! Take care and stay safe.....

  1. LOVE the blueness in that first lonely building.

  2. Strong images Grace! If I was forced to pick one it would be the boathouse, but your 'roos would be a very close second. If I was forced.

  3. The wedding photo is a story, so it appeals the most.

  4. These are marvelous! I think the 'roos might be my favorite, maybe because we don't have them here...but they are all good! Great entries...

  16. I ADORE all of the photos, totally stunning, the roos are my favourite but only because I can imagine the pure happenstance of such a moment.

The new header photo is stunning - taken from Kings Park??

  17. Nicely done! Love the kangaroos! I know what you meant when you wrote about being the official photographer for a wedding. My first time was this year and it was a tad scary:) Lots and lots of stress. But it was fun to do:)

You really know how to capture the moment and these pics demonstrate that not only do you have the color but also the spirit from the experience. Congrats and hope your week starts out well. Chris

  20. Your blog looks great. It would be hard to pick a favorite but if I had to I would pick "Yellow."

  21. These are all soo beautiful! For some reason, I'm quite drawn to the yellow, though they are all stunning. I also love the 'facelift' though you most certainly did not need one! :)

  22. Back again to answer your question. This afternoon we had a period with very strong winds and lots of rain. That was from one of Isaac's rain bands sweeping over us. But it appears to be headed out into the Gulf toward Mississippi and we don't expect much of anything - maybe a little rain. We were in south Florida when Hurricane Andrew hit. Don't want to go through that again!

    Thanks for thinking of us!

  23. Well done! I'd never have the attn span to assemble such a post!

  24. Oh I remember that liquid gold shot. If that doesn't win... The wedding pic is fantastic too. Thanks for your email 'warning' me. And thank you very much for the compliment. I won't, however, enter the competition, partly because it's very short notice and partly because I'm in a bit of a rush with lots of other things to do...

  25. I love your two 1st pictures! I like the mood here, and the glorious light!

  26. I also like the first two shots. If I had to chose one it would be Yellow. Love the way the water glistens and the contrast of the silhouette.

  33. Nice captures. I really like the boathouse pic --- awesome! The facelift is nice...but, I must admit, I was partial to the night skyline shot with the dazzling lights. Hope all's well in your world.

  40. Looks like I will have to pass on this one Grace especially given the timeline and that we are now on the move again. Will look out though for some pics that can reflect these colours. I must admit though it is a bit difficult to find blue in Edinburgh although there is lots of grey in the sky. Maybe that will have to do!!! Cheers, Rae

  41. These colors are stunning and I have just accepted Rob and Mandy's challenge as well. I will pre-load and hope that I am on-line after the hurricane moves through. The party is my favorite part of a big storm... losing power is my least - hah!

I love the wedding (on a boat?) photo, Grace, and I have never seen boxing kangaroos - great capture!
