Here in Australia the adage 'learn to crawl before you walk' should probably read 'learn to swim before you walk'..Bet you this young dad is a surfer! I'm sure it's the same anywhere in the world where water plays a big part in everyday life, swimming lessons can start as early as six months. One of Australia's better known swimming 'personalities' Laurie Lawrence has been an advocate of early swimming lessons for as long as I can remember check out this short video. For sure you never take your eyes off a youngster anywhere near water, but for that one moment when it could happen, those lessons could make all the difference. Have a fab Wednesday, stay safe.....p.s. note to half naked runner above.. shirt up mate, it's chilly!
And he wasn't the only one.....!
Cute post, Grace. I love that last photo with the little boy and dad by the water. It looks like Junior is taking a tumble, doesn't it? :-) It's a great thing to introduce babies to the water at an early age, and Australian babies (at least the ones living on the coast,) are certainly lucky! cute !!
ReplyDeleteHe actually reminds me of a baby turtle, fresh out of the egg, always heading straight to the sea...
ReplyDeleteBei euch gibt es doch sicher auch schon Surfen für Babys...:-)
ReplyDeleteLieben Gruß

Oh, bless!
ReplyDeleteThe way they're all dressed - 'cepting the runner - I think these young ones are okay with being beach bunnies till your summer comes back!
ReplyDeleteYes all children should be taught to swim - early!
ReplyDeleteThe best years to learn!Babies don't feel fear yet, and they keep all what they learn.
ReplyDeleteAww, too adorable! I love that last one, that baby is just going to head right in, haha. Love that video, we all had to learn to swim pretty young and I'm a big advocate :)
ReplyDeleteLove it!
ReplyDeletethey're funny and fast ..
ReplyDeleteI do think children should be taught to swim as early as possible. My kids didn't learn this young, but they were only a few years old and they're all still great swimmers. Wonderful post for the day, Grace, and a great message! Love that little one in the sand! Terrific! Hope your week is going well! Enjoy!
ReplyDeleteHi Grace ...I agree with Laurie .... learning to swim early is the way to go ...I can't imagine life without a dip in the briney on a hot Summer day.
ReplyDeleteThe air must be wonderful to breath. Took me to the age of 13 to learn how to swim ;) Please have a good Wednesday.
ReplyDeleteHow cute! I remember taking my own kids to "water baby" classes when they were babies and they loved it.
ReplyDeleteYes, I saw that runner and wondered what the temperature was. I guess chilly weather doesn't bother him.
ReplyDeleteHa ha ha,love the instinctively dolphin-like swimming motion about 38 seconds into the clip!
ReplyDeleteYes, junior there looks like a sea turtle intent on returning to the ocean. Regardless of the runner's attire, I like the zip he adds to the composition.
ReplyDeleteThose parents are serious about early swimming lessons! The runner is probably generating his own heat.

ReplyDeleteI was wondering about the runner when I saw long sleeves on the other two.
Perhaps we will see that little one in the Olympics one day. It seems we may need him.
ReplyDeleteI'm sure it is chilly as a normal Swedish summer day.
ReplyDeleteLovely light.
ReplyDeleteI use Google Reader to read blogs, but you force me to go to your website to see your pictures large size. I was especially interested to see the cute baby crawling in the first photo.
ReplyDeleteCute, rather them than me today though, was a bit brisk for the beach..
ReplyDeleteHe knows where is the sea
ReplyDeleteThose parents look vigilant.
ReplyDeletei like the idea 'swim before you crawl'
ReplyDeleteLove those beach baby pictures!
ReplyDeleteThis is so cute, they have the same idea, up to the water.
ReplyDeleteA nice posting!
ReplyDeleteI'm curious, did dad let him reach the water? !
ReplyDeleteStunning pictures. You certainly know how to create amazing images. I am truly amazed by reviewing this post!!
