With one thing or another, you know how it is, I didn't get much of an opportunity to take any photos yesterday, thank heavens for our archive stocks oui! These are a few that I took at the Zoo last weekend after the camera market. The big cats have always been my favorite, they have that ability to look aloof, dignified and very regal all at the same and I wonder what thoughts lay behind the inscrutable gaze of the old guy above and the cheetah below.....
Whereas the 'nudge, nudge, wink, wink' rakish expression on the tigers face below says it all. 'Grrrrr me pretty, I could have a bit of fun with you if it wasn't for this barrier!' I hope you have a bit of fun over the weekend, take care.....
Yes, the tiger looks rakish, but did you notice the teeth?! Don't think I'd trust him either.
ReplyDeleteWow, especially the 1st photo is amazing!
ReplyDeleteWow, der Löwe ist toll, mein Sternzeichen...
ReplyDeleteLieben Gruß

I love the big cats!! That grinning, winking tiger is amazing! What terrific captures, Grace!! Hope you have a fantastic weekend! Enjoy every moment!
ReplyDeleteNo wonder lions are called kings of animals, they're so elegant , smart, and mysterious..
ReplyDeleteWonderful images Grace. Love them.
ReplyDeleteThat bottom fellow is fantastically rakish, haha, I love it! Awesome capture :) But I love them all, the top 2 are beautiful photos and shows off these majestic creatures wonderfully.
ReplyDeleteI do love the felines too... those are some magnificent ones!
ReplyDeleteI love the lion. It's our signal:) Rohrer is pronounced "Roar" and I use it as our symbol or icon on some of my works:) Beautiful felines:)
ReplyDeleteAhem...I think it would behoove you to stay quite clear of these beautiful cats! I see in their eyes great appetite and I can hear their brain churning: "I'll bet she would taste good!"
ReplyDeleteSuperb portraits, though!
Oh I SO needed this dose of FELIS!
ReplyDeleteMay I use the last photo?

The tiger's expression is priceless for a human being, lol! Don't overdo things this weekend!
ReplyDeleteOh! that cheetah is so regal ... Kings of cats for sure.
ReplyDeleteHe was sizing you up and concluded, not enough meat. Not worth the effort.
ReplyDeleteI'm sitting here on a lazy Saturday morning, coffee beside me, drizzle outside. Suddenly I have been transported to deepest Africa with just one glance at your images. Thanks Grace.
ReplyDeleteI am totaly with you on the big cats. They are just so beautiful to watch. You really do wonder what they are thinking as they gaze out at you.
ReplyDeleteAs I wind down my days work with thoughts of heading home for the evening, you have already started another day. I hope you are having a great Saturday.
I have not had much chance to visit Perth zoo. Seems like at these wild cats are not hiding in the shelters. Melbourne ones were just like empty houses every time I visited.
ReplyDeleteWe're too small to have a zoo, but what with bears and cougers all around us, I don't miss one.
ReplyDeleteThe big cats look lazy for long stretches, but when they sense that a meal is in the neighborhood, look out!
ReplyDeleteKL zoo's lions and tigers are usually sleeping except during feeding time. Maybe it is similar to Melbourne zoo's empty houses as James said ! You have caught some proud creatures especially the first picture of the lion.
ReplyDeleteProud looking animals.
ReplyDeleteNow there are some good looking pussycats!
ReplyDeleteOh wow big kitties.the cheetah is magnificent .
ReplyDeleteSpeechless... enjoying!
ReplyDeleteHave a great weekend!
xoxo, Juliana

Love the cats!
ReplyDeleteSuch great expressions you caught! I love that last one...you captured him very well! Glad he couldn't get to you!
ReplyDeleteI'm a tiger in the Chinese zodiac - but I'm not sure if that's why I feel an affinity for them, or if it's the fabulous combination of stripes, black, orange (nearly RED, rippling muscles and that enigmatic facial expression!!
ReplyDeleteGreat images. Cats are cool!!
ReplyDeleteGreat shots. Big cats are beautiful and there is something special about being that close to something higher up the food chain than you.
ReplyDeleteDarryl and Ruth :)
Como siempre, estupendas las fotos que nos has dejado.
ReplyDeleteSaludos y un abrazo.
Aren't they just wonderful! I've seen all the big cats in Africa but I'm afraid I will never see a tiger in the wild. Great shots.
ReplyDeleteWas that last one winking at you? Beautiful animals!
ReplyDeleteWe have mountain lions on the loose here...I am always mindful of that when hiking!
The first and second photos are amazing. They look friendly in the photos but I don’t want to see them personally. :)
ReplyDeleteI was browsing through your homepage and was in awe of the photos. And them BOOM! A hazy picture of the tiger! What happened?
