Tranquility is a sleeping pussy cat.....

This is Lily, she walked out of the bushes at the top of my garden a few years back in a very sorry state indeed. One of the many cats that at some stage through whatever circumstances find themselves homeless and unloved.  It only took me a few days quietly talking to her to win her trust, lets face it, animals are no different from humans in that respect, they just want to be loved. She wasn't a kitten by any means and I have no idea how long she'd been living rough, from her condition I would say a long time. It made me very happy to know that at least for the last three years of her life she was queen of her domain.....
p.s. I know I'm a day late with the 'tranquility' theme, but at this time of the year when the weather's going up and down like the stock market (I was going to put in a little more risque comparison, but wasn't willing to take the chance of offending anyone haha!) dreaded lurgy's abound and I've spent the last two days abed not feeling 'the tranquil vibe'! On the mend and looking forward to catching up with soothing images from  around the world.  Click here to view thumbnails for all participants

  1. Hello to sweet Lily! would you please offer a big hug to her for me? And thank you for your sweet mind, offering a home to a cat could give you a place in paradise.

Anyway, I think I said that I can imagine several more risqué comparisons! :-)
Glad you are feeling a bit better and I'm sure Lily is purring!

  8. Don't hold back on my account. Cats look very peaceful when they sleep. Dogs often dream and move around like we do.

  11. Cats love that feeling of being 'hemmed in'. Mine will sleep in the draws of my work table. Nuts ... quite nuts.

  17. I have been away from the blog world because of ill health and an operation; now I am back and I see that you have taken amazing pictures in the meantime. I was scrolling through your blog. Ah! that cat picture is a picture of peace and tranquility, but why did you say that you were glad to know she had a peaceful three years of her life. Has she passed away?

  20. Hope you feel better. You and Brattcat had the same idea.

It is OK for you to post Theme Day a day late, because that makes you right on time for those of us in the Western Hemisphere.

  31. Lily could be Rose's twin ... cats are indeed the epitomy of tranquil .. well except for Jack whose ginger temperment is almost always sweet, but be late feeding him and oh my he gets cranky

Hope you are feeling better soon!

  32. they certainly spend a lot of hours doing this! beautiful kitty and photos!

  33. She does look quite tranquil as only a cat can do. I know that she left the world having found love and a family who loved her. She looks like Holly's Snowball who, like Lily, found her family.

Hope that the lurgy (?) is better or healed... ('splain that to us)

  36. What a couple of sweeties...you and the kitty!
The pain suffered by our cousins in the animal kingdom is immense around the world and it's nice to know there are people who care enough to do something about it!
