There was a mouse
who made his house
in the bottom of a tree
the leaves kept him warm
until there was a storm
and then he had to flee...
by moi...
Well I may be a Scot, but a poet I'm not, oops I did it again haha! Fear not Robert Burns, your ode rules supreme, although I seem to remember that at the many Burn's Night dinners we went along to as teenagers (in the middle of Africa) we young'uns possibly didn't appreciate the drama of the saga of the 'wee timorous beastie' as much as we should have. I spotted this little 'hoose' at the bottom of a Plane tree in the city and was overcome with poetic nonsense, I hope you enjoy a little bit of 'silly' in your Sunday also, stay safe.....
La photo est très belle mais je ne vois pas la souris !!! Bon dimanche !!!
ReplyDeleteI find your lines very light and poetic! The important thing is to make poetry when you feel like it, no matter the place and the way to make it; today, you added a small piece of beauty to the world! thank you!
ReplyDeleteVery nice!
ReplyDeleteLove it, Grace!
ReplyDeletePoor little mousey... wonder where he fled to?
ReplyDeleteNice winter abode! Burns nights in the middle of Africa? That must have been something!
ReplyDeleteAnd a poet, too! Lovely shot. I do like coke advertising too.
ReplyDeleteYou are a wonderful poet! In addition to your wit, your charm and your natural beauty - I tell you, it is just not fair! You are a winner all the way around! Love the mouse house poem...I think I will save it for the grandson. He will love it!

ReplyDeleteOh, I love your silly poem! I think it's terrific and I had it straight from the mouse, he does indeed say the same thing! How fun and just the giggle I needed for the evening! Just sorry I'm so late getting by today!! Hope your weekend is going well!!
