Taken from the south side of the Swan River as the evening sun slides down over Perth City. I had a bit of fun with the help of the new and improved Picasa. I used a touch of focal zoom, saturation and lomo'ed around the edges for that surreal feel. The original untouched version is below, whichever one you prefer, there's no denying, Perth sure looks pretty in the twilight oui? p.s. it RAINED last night in Perth, the smell after such a long dry spell was divine! Have a wonderful Friday.....
Yes, I would agree, Grace, Perth is lovely. I do like the effects as well. It is fun to play around with and enhance the shots.
ReplyDeleteI love your shots of your city! Both versions are lovely in their own way...glad you got the rain! Have a wonderful day, Grace! You definitely have a pretty city!
ReplyDeleteGlad you got rain. They are saying that we may get some snow tomorrow after having +28˚C temps last week! Typical March weather for us.
ReplyDeletePerth does indeed look like such a beautiful city! I love the effects you've used, but both shots really show the beauty! Glad you got some rain!! Hope you have a great weekend, Grace! Enjoy!

These are great Grace. I really like the effect you have applied to the cityscape. The original is also a super shot.
ReplyDeleteI LOVE the top photo. I so enjoy manipulating photos and this one is brilliant.
ReplyDeleteI have to say that the effects are quite nice Grace. But I really like the light in the original. It feels magical and soft.
ReplyDeleteWell, aren't you a clever girl! Perth does have a very nice skyline. Have a great weekend.
ReplyDeleteVery cool. Your final version was worth the work. It gives me the impression of zooming across the water toward downtown in a speed boat.
ReplyDeleteRain, what's that? I love the second shot. It's very crisp.
ReplyDeleteBonza photos, i especially like the surreal feel photo as it looks like Perth is in another dimension :-).
ReplyDeleteNot a fan of digital alteration to that extent but this one doesn't look too bad. The original is lovely.

ReplyDeleteIt is fun to experiment sometimes, but mostly I prefer the originals
ReplyDeleteI really like both, you did a really good job though, it's wonderful like that. And your title, is that a book or jazz? :-)
ReplyDeleteBoth are beautiful, Grace, but i prefer always the ORIGINAL.
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful Friday you too.

ReplyDeleteIt's fun to play now and then! I've not tried many of the new effects in Picasa, but I use the TEXT thing for watermarking my photos now.

It's a beautiful shot, no matter what, but I really like what you did with the first one! Loverly!!!
ReplyDeleteActually, that skyline reminds me of shots I've taken of Miami across the bay. Very similar.
Both versions are lovely in their own way. Bravo :)
