Bankers and business men.....
The National Hotel, one of Fremantle's historic Federation style buildings was almost destroyed by fire in March 2007, the interior was gutted, fortunately the facade was saved and the hotel has now been completely restored to it's former glory, AND it's up for sale! So if you're in the market to buy a 'heritage listed' hotel in a prime position, it sits on the corner of South Terrace, known as the 'cappuccino strip', and High Street so it couldn't possibly be in a more customer friendly spot, this could be the one for you! Hopefully you'll have a little more luck than Mr Butler who thought it was a dead cert until the bank stepped in, the banner is still up, are you interested.....? p.s please read this link to help with the theme day for April http://cdpbthemeday.blogspot.com.au/.....

This is a really beautiful and colorful building.
ReplyDeleteWell, as tempting as it sounds, I think I will pass on the purchase...I so thoroughly enjoy finding out about your city through your blog! This is a beautiful building - glad it was preserved. Seems we are losing so many of our stately old buildings in the name of progress!
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad it was preserved! Such a beautiful building! So often they aren't saved, just totally rebuilt and so much history is lost! Great shots and a great post for the day, Grace!

Thank God it didn't burn to the ground Grace!
ReplyDeleteIt is definitely a terrific looking building, but I fear a bit out of my price range.
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful building! But, I think I'll pass on the buying option. I hope the new owners treat it with the respect it deserves.
ReplyDeleteIt is a handsome building, Grace. It would fit in the American West. There should be duels at noon.
ReplyDeleteInteresting building. Have a great day.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful. I wonder who will buy it and what they will turn the venerable building into. Glad to see summer is still in full bloom in your neck of the woods! Veronique (French Girl in Seattle)
ReplyDeleteI bet it would cost a packet to buy maybe around the million dollar mark or more :-).
ReplyDeleteLet's BUY it!
ReplyDeleteBTW: The postman tells me that sending a book 1st class to Australia takes 2 weeks!!!!!

All «Louis» has at the moment is Monopoly money. Is there any chance they would accept that?
ReplyDeleteM. Scèlerat, éditeur à «Louis»: With a question like that, it is obvious you have a Monopoly on stupidity.
«Louis» à M. Scèlerat, éditeur: How would you like me to use my horns to launch you into lunar orbit?
M. Scèlerat, éditeur à «Louis»: (GULP!)...
