Last night Aimee and I were invited to preview an exhibition of '12 of the most exhilarating i-D magazine covers' by Beijing born fashion photographer Chen Man (check them out) who's style is described as 'bold and experimental'. Chen Man lived up to her reputation with these images inspired by 'love and water, yin and yang, pink and blue' created using MAC cosmetics. Man uses 'progressive digital post production techniques' to create her original and inspiring images...a perfect opportunity for moi to go crazy in 'picnik' before it disappears in April.....!
While we were there Aimee tried out the new range of colours inspired by Man's images, applied by the very gorgeous and extremely talented make-up artist Crystal. I decided not to use effects with these two shots because, well, they're two gorgeous young women wearing hot pink lipstick and they shine without any added enhancement oui! Hope you have a terrific Thursday, it's going to be a beautiful 29C in Perth today, perfect! I haven't said that for a while.....
So did you you try out any new colours Grace?
ReplyDeleteSounds like a fun day to me!! They are lovely young ladies! Hope you have a beautiful day, Grace! Enjoy!

Girls' night out! A colorful event for everyone.
ReplyDeleteEnjoyed Chen Man's website...I just found Picnik and I'm missing it already...that's where I edited my "Theanne and Baron" header...smile then frown! With my "aging GRACEFULLY" blog, I'm on the lookout for great makeup for aging skin...anything happening along those lines with Chen Man?!!!
ReplyDeletegreat photos...you're right, youth and exuberant good looks don't need to be edited!
happy you're having some cooler weather for a change!
I'm beautifying too! MWAHHH! (Hollywood Kiss)

ReplyDeleteWhat a fun time this must have been! Creative photography and fun make-up make for a perfect days adventure.
ReplyDeleteune journee entre filles, journee maquillage ;) et de tres belles damoiselles, ce qui fait plaisir le matin quand on se leve ;)
ReplyDeleteGirls will be girls! I've never had make-up done for me, I'd love to try it! Gorgeous young ladies!
ReplyDelete(17° here today. A bit too hot for mid-March if you ask me) gorgeous blue sky all week and what's the forecast for the weekend? Dull and rainy... Lol!
Definitely sounds like a fun day! I always love watching the makeup girls...and you are right - they are both beautiful!
ReplyDeletelovely captures!!
ReplyDeleteFancy ladies!
ReplyDeletelovely aimee.
ReplyDeleteLooks very vibrant ... Love your top pic Grace ... Bravo!
ReplyDeleteI like the bright colors! Sounds like you had fun.
ReplyDeleteLove it .. and you should check out ipiccy.com .. they dont have storage space like picnik but they do have all the same effects/type faces and some other cool stuff ... AND its FREE!
ReplyDeleteWhat a cool looking hot pink- lovely post and subjects Grace, sounds a fun excursion.
ReplyDeleteMost of Picnik's effects have been brought to Picasa (the software download for PC, Mac) from version 3.9 onwards. In Picasa there are now 5 tabs of effects up from 3 tabs previously. So now you get the effects without the hassle of uploading/downloading photos. Apart from that I find Picasa is a much nicer way of browsing photos anyway. Both Picasa and Picnik are owned by Google.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous! No way to do this in B&W...
ReplyDeleteThe paradise of beauty! Arianna
ReplyDeleteOh lala! Le paradis des femmes!...
ReplyDeleteTrès intéressant...
Great photos, Grace. Amazing how much money is spent on cosmetics, especially the big brands. Was just reading this morning that Jennifer Aniston spends about $10,000 per month on her beauty treatments...
ReplyDeleteI've not heard of the fashion plate, but no special effects are needed with these two beauties!
ReplyDeleteam never a fan of make up really, blame it on my allergic skin. ^0^
ReplyDeletebut a lil rouge and some lines here and there is okay.
yes, love the new Mac inspired make up too,
wish I could give it a try soon. ^0^
ps: they're both just gorgeously ohlala!
