Spotted in Leederville.....!!

I'm not really what you'd call a 'car' person, all I want from my vehicle is for it to get me from A to B without any mishaps, doesn't mean I can't appreciate a beauty like this powder blue Cadillac (I only know that because it's there on the side) For a moment I had images of cruising, blond hair flying out behind me, or maybe a scarf Princess Grace style hahaha!..when in reality the damn thing has the steering wheel on the wrong side and it would be more a case of trying desperately to avoid oncoming traffic! Below is a picture of what I really look like cruising with the top down in my friend's car, not quite so glam huh! This one's for you M la Vache, I know you enjoy an elegant old classic. Here we are midway through another week, unbelievable.....!

  1. Funny how we both posted old blue convertibles today!

I love this one. Drove an old Caddy for awhile (not a convertible but still very nice!)...

My 1954 Ford brings back lots of memories. That summer, I'd just graduated from high school, and Lois Anne and I went on our first date in my souped up, mellowed-out, 1937 Chevy!

  3. You don't really look like you were enjoying that ride Grace!
You and Lowell were certainly on the same wavelength today.

  4. I'm not a car guy either. I drive a nice year old car that still looks and drives great; I have no plans to replace it. But, like you, I also do like that gorgeous blue Cadillac. Classic.

"Town and gown" refers to often frictional relationships between universities and the cities in which they sit. The phrase probably refers to the times when students and faculty at the old universities like Oxford and Bologna attended their seminars dressed in long robes.

    Very glam!

  5. I'm not a car person, don't even have one any more and don't miss it, but I do appreciate these old beauties! The best part of your blog today is that terrific "glamor" shot! I love it! Hope your week is going well!

  7. I think you looked wonderful! I rented a convertible and drove the California Coastline years ago...just to say I did it. However, my hair was short, and there was no scarf to blow in the breeze - it was fun though! That blue Caddy is gorgeous!

  11. Fantastic! This is a 1955 Cadillac Eldorado. The Eldorado was introduced in 1953 as a limited edition "halo" car. It was more luxurious than the standard (but already luxurious) Cadillac convertible. Packard, «Louis'» favorite make, answered with a limited production car of their own, the Caribbean, this example also being a 1955 model.

  20. I suppose I am a car person, in spite of my modest car. As wonderful as the car looks, it would wallow along the road like a rowing boat. Very smooth, but don't ask it to do anything rash. Please, no scarf in the open top. Remember Isadora Duncan.

    1. Try living in the UK you would be paying just under $10.00 US per Gallon.
