Aussie beach bums.....!!

Yesterday was a warm day in Perth, 35C with a light sea breeze, the ocean really was this aquamarine blue! We had a stroll along the beach to see what was going on!! Got some great shots of the surf lifesavers practicing their rescue techniques, which I'll show you tomorrow. I got a bit side tracked by so many people still lying baking in the hot sun to top up their 'perfect' tans! From now on I've decided to embrace the 'pale and interesting' look, I just don't have the stamina for the heat anymore..
Like all beach side cities Perth has it's nudist beach, Swanbourne Beach is ours, I love the advice the site gives prospective visitors to this beach.. 'bring sunscreen, the Australian sun can burn your bum'!! I do hope these ladies have taken this advice and not just turned the other cheek.....!! I hope your new week begins well.....

  2. Oh, I do love your beautiful beaches!! I would love to be there right now, enjoying the sun and that BLUE water! I'm far to fair-skinned to do any serious sunbathing -- let alone visit the nudist beach, particularly at my age, but I could still enjoy soaking up the beauty from under an umbrella!! Fantastic captures, Grace! I may not be able to feel the sun, but I can still enjoy the beauty you've provided us with! Have a wonderful start to your week!

  3. As a redhead of Irish and English descent, with the accompanying fair skin, I don't deliberately bask in the sun. I do get sun, however, doing my outdoor stuff...boating, fishing, working in the yard. I hope those ladies don't live to regret their sun-worship! Skin tends to look leathery and generally doesn't age well. Hope you have a great week!

  4. That aquamarine really is magnificent, and very tempting to just run in and cool off. However, I know that the sand would burn my feet! LOL. I'm not one for sun-baking...I get too hot and am more worried about the health risks.

  5. The pale looks is so much more healthy for you too, so embrace it and be proud! I think I'd be considered pale for where I live too!

  6. Oh to be young and immortal and wrinkle-free!

  7. Another series making the northerners here jealous, Grace. It does look like a wonderful beach. I can go to the beach for maybe an hour, preferably walking around, not lying and baking. So, how did you get that effect on the nude women?

  8. Oh to be able to feel the sun's heat on my back. But it does no favors for the face. You're smart not to bake.

  11. More than the tanning I just love walking along the beach. Your beaches are just gorgeous Grace. I miss them so much.

  12. the color of the water is gorgeous! going to the Pet Beach is my idea of a fun day...the signs telling of the rip tide are enough to keep anything but my feet out of the water!

now I'm trying to remember if there're any nude beaches in the USA...I might be aging gracefully but I'm thinking aging and nude beaches...do they really go together? ;-)

  16. I can relate to the Aussie sun burning your bottom and anything else for that matter as i stayed out in the Aussie sun to long one day and ended up with painful blisters on my back and legs ouch!, ouch!, ouch! for a week or more :-(.

  19. Wow! Summer is really hanging on out West, Grace... Nude beach? Why do I get the image of bacon frying in my mind?

  20. Well, it sounds as if you made a lot of people dream today, Grace. What would be all do, here in the Northern Hemisphere, if we did not have friends like you, "Down Under?'" -- We are all so sick of the grey skies, the rain and the cold here in Seattle. Amazing photos. I can't believe the color of the ocean! Veronique (French Girl in Seattle)

  21. If you have a bottle of 15+ sun tan lotion and apply two coats does that mean you have the equivalent of 30+ protection?

  22. 35C doesn't happen very often where I live, but when it does the beaches are filled to capacity. I'm sure there's a nudist beach here somewhere, but I am yet to find it!

  23. Very funny and interesting post- I am just happy for our 15C and sunshine here as our winter fades over the horizon. And pale and intersting is a healthy option Grace- take it from this pale English girl!

  25. Your temperatures woud be called a "heatwave" here. But we still are increasing to higher temps now. To lay down in the sun like that I can't do anymore either. I should melt away I think. Don't have the patience for it anymore.

  26. 35C over there? I think you should come here to cooling down, it's 20-29C on average.... ;)

  27. Nice post! I am looking forward to 'our' summer as well. It is spring in The Netherlands now. Can't wait to go to the beach.
    Very funny 'bum'- warning ;-)
    See you!

  28. I'm with you on the pale look. I've had my share of pre-cancer spots removed so now I'm very careful with sun exposure.

  29. I used to love to get toasty tan but now I strive for pale and to remain skin cancer free .. sunblock is my BFF

  32. I always forget sun screen since I never burn or peel...just get darker and darker. But I think Australia has a much stronger rays than we have here. Your gorgeous beach photos make me crave for summer already!
