Omg I am so over summer but although it was a scorcher of a weekend it didn't keep Perthites at home.. myself included :) On Saturday evening Aimee and I went to Cottesloe Beach to take some sunset shots of the sculptures.. not a chance! There wasn't a parking spot to be had for miles, we did however enjoy the sunset along the coast on the way home, got to make the best of a situation right :) Yesterday we thought it was going to be a double whammy when we went to the Upmarket held in the stunning Winthrop Hall and surrounding grounds at UWA but just as we thought about giving up the parking gods came to the rescue! We both did pick up a few goodies but the heat and the crowds were OTT so the visit was short. What did you get up to this weekend? Happy Monday, take care and stay safe..
What did we get up to this weekend, well the same as we have been doing for the past 13 months - staying at home!!! I thought about a walk, but there was an icy cold wind blowing and by the time I had been down the garden and back my eyes were just streaming, despite wrap around glasses, and my face was frozen! Next week, if the forecast has it right, the weather will improve so I can get some gardening done I hope, we have had enough rain that it should be easy digging. You have a good week and thank your lucky stars that you are able to go out. Cheers Diane

...I didn't see many masks! I read the eastern Australia is having record flooding. Take care and stay safe.
ReplyDeleteHeard the Sydney area got some heavy rain and flooding. Looks like you're back to no masks. Have a grand week, Grace.
ReplyDeleteSome rather fine buildings in those shots. Plenty of parking spaces here, but with everything closed there's nowhere to go! My most exciting task has been filling in my Census form online, like every good citizen of these islands: they apparently need to know my professional qualifications, even though I retired nearly four years ago. Keeps someone in a job.
ReplyDeleteWould love to go to the markets, and... Grace... it can´t get too hot 😉
ReplyDeleteHope for sunset pics of the sculptures some other day!
It looks like you and Aimee had a fine weekend hanging out together. I have not seen a crowd of people as large as this in more than a year.
ReplyDeleteYes, people do want to be out and about. Waikiki is picking up too. Stay safe and sane my dear!
ReplyDeleteThat sounds like so much fun. I can't wait until I can participate in crowded events again. I did manage a visit to Celebration of Fine Art on Friday and then dinner with friends at a friend's house on Saturday. So I was able to get out and about. Just no crowds yet.
ReplyDeleteDearest Grace,
ReplyDeleteIt is heart breaking to see a former Cathedral with beautiful organ being turned into a market place...
We have had cool and very windy days!
Hugs,
Mariette
It certainly looks like it was busy.
ReplyDeleteThe bus service to Cottesloe Beach is good. At least you did get out and see something and a sunset drive sounds nice.
ReplyDeleteThat looks so bizarre to see a crowd of people. It was warm (+16˚C) here and sunny so we sat out on the deck out of any wind and drank beer and ate tortillas! It was glorious!
ReplyDeleteBusy and hot. Not my favourites. The drive along the coast sounds lovely!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful pics
ReplyDeleteOu weekends are for a year already the same, stay at home and make a walk. The lockdown has been extended with two more months now...:(
ReplyDeleteI would love to have visit a market like this one but helas. Still have to wait.
ReplyDeleteGlad you had some fun. I stayed indoors most of the weekend because of the cold weather and strong winds.
ReplyDeleteThe first black and white photo is nice.
ReplyDeleteWe are forgetting what time it is. ... :)
Wow, such a fun looking place, and it's so odd seeing no masks! COVID must be better uncontrol in your world, you're so lucky for that!
