'There is nothing more luxurious than eating while you read - unless it be reading while you eat'.. E.Nesbit..
This was an impulse shot as we were walking through the Perth Cultural Centre last week on the way back to the car. The young lady eating lunch, immersed in her book seemed undisturbed by the chaos around her. The Cultural Centre is like a building site at the moment, scaffolding for the new rooftop space on the Art Gallery WA has taken over temporarily. Looking forward to that space opening hopefully soon, the city views should be excellent. Must admit the world around me disappears when reading good book, how about you :) Happy Thursday, take care and stay safe..
Total escape from the real world. A glass of red wine goes down a treat too.
ReplyDelete...those spider plants look like they are about ready to attack that young lady.
ReplyDeleteAlways nice to find a space outside to read.
ReplyDeleteI once worked at a company that had a courtyard at their factory, and people could often be found there reading on their breaks.
A good book is a great adventure.
ReplyDeleteIt was actually warm enough to sit out on the deck and read last weekend which I did! It was fabulous!
ReplyDeleteA good slice of life sort of shot.
ReplyDeleteDearest Grace,
ReplyDeleteLove to read but not while eating...!
Hugs,
Mariette
I have to say I generally only read in bed, I never seem to have time during the day! Nice shot though. Keep safe Diane
ReplyDeleteWe had a bit of that weather here today so I could to sit outside in the sunshine reading a Jack Reacher novel while sipping my coffee.
ReplyDeleteNoisy it may be, but by her relaxed position you would never know it.
ReplyDeleteIt does, everything around me disappears and I'm betting she's on a lunch break with her badge hanging in clear view! She's no doubt reading as much as she can until lunch break is over!
ReplyDeleteThere is nothing like the draw of a good book!
ReplyDeleteThere is nothing quite like a good book to make the rest of the world disappear.
ReplyDeleteA book is a door to endless adventures, travel, interesting people, and exotic places.
ReplyDeleteLove the chairs, Grace!
ReplyDeleteAnd certainly I always love a good book 📖🧡
Nice portrait and better a book then a mobile but now you can reads books also on your phone and not knowing where in house I must leave them because every floor is stacked with books I now prefer an e-reader.
ReplyDeleteA nice portrait, love reading, for a moment entering an other world and forget everything around you.
ReplyDeleteGreat capture Grace. Nothing better than a good book :)
ReplyDeleteWhat a great shot. Yes, I can get pulled into a good book and not see or hear anything else. That's a good feeling.
ReplyDeleteGood books are always a worthy distraction.
ReplyDeleteLuxuriant yes.
