I don't often take pictures of sunsets and it's not even a particularly dramatic sunset, more of a gently slipping away below the horizon kind of sunset, but after a week of lockdown, devastating bushfires to the south west of Perth and floods to the north I felt the need to sit quietly and reflect on the positives. We have been so very lucky through the pandemic and although eighty six homes were lost in the fires no lives were lost in either of the disasters. West Australians have come together in their typically generous way to support those who have lost everything, I knew they would. So there we are, we have had enough drama so a gentle sunset to hopefully ease us into a quieter time ahead. Happy Wednesday, take care and stay safe..
Achingly beautiful.
ReplyDeleteSorry to hear of the disasters in WA, but good to know you are holding up well. Sunset is a fine time of day partly because of the color and light, but also because it signals the end of the work day, and beginning of a more relaxed evening.
ReplyDeleteVery lovely sunsets. You have been lucky with the pandemic, compared to many places.

Dearest Grace,
ReplyDeleteLovely sunset! Too bad that your excellent photos never show up on the Blog List sidebar. Right now I got a post about how to fix that...
Hugs,

ReplyDeleteCheers
We haven’t heard that news about the flooding and fires here. I hope it settles down quickly! Take care.
ReplyDeleteI did wonder how you were coping with what was going on there. Very nice sunset
ReplyDeleteYes, sunsets are magical, and during this bleak time of year for us, just seeing the sun ever even for a moment is a treasure, because it's rare. I just heard on the news here yesterday that Australia has done the very best of all during this COVID19 crises! I wish we could follow as you all.
ReplyDelete...a colorful ending to another day!
ReplyDeleteA soothing and colourful sunset. Glad you are doing good. We heard about the fires and flood on our news website. Take care and stay safe!
ReplyDeleteNice sunset. Add a 4 point star filter and make them even more dramatic.
ReplyDeleteA sunset works for me.
ReplyDeleteA lovely sunset, Grace! I'm glad you are okay but the poor people who have lost everything - breaks the heart.
ReplyDeleteThat is a very interesting sunset, sort of industrial heavy metal I think.
ReplyDeleteI like gentler sunsets nowadays. I had not heard of the flooding to your north.
ReplyDeleteFor me sunsets always hold the promise of better days ahead. Time to be thankful all that we have.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful pics, Grace. Sometimes I´m a bit glad I live in such a boring place of the world when it comes to natural desasters.
ReplyDeleteI was freaked out when helicopters went over our Caravan Park in Madley to get water from the lake to try and put out a fire nearby.
Glad people help each other, here it´s the same :-)
Very little news of anything apart from the pandemic seems to be filtering through at the moment. Always inspiring to sit and watch the sun set below the horizon.
ReplyDeleteWhat a sad news, must be horrify to loose everthing! So frightening those bushfires...
ReplyDeleteAl new for us in our part of the world. That news doesn't reach us with all the trouble here already. But a sunset is never a dull picture on which part of the world it may be.
ReplyDeleteGlad the floods, bushfires and the 5 day lock-down are over. Lovely sunset Grace
ReplyDeleteWhen ever I see the sun sinking over the ocean, I feel like I should be able to hear the sizzle as that fire ball hits the water. Silly, I know.
ReplyDeleteAmazing sunset views.
ReplyDeleteStay well. Take care.
You speak my mind too. Let sanity, Peace and humanity reign!
