Took these shots last week on the one slightly cooler day we had had up until then. The contrasts are possibly more apparent on St Georges Terrace than any other street in the city. Skyscrapers interspersed with heritage buildings along the main stretch, while the beautifully tended Supreme Court Gardens and the Supreme Court building itself is on the opposite side..
... and from the tranquility of the gardens you can just see, towards centre of the pic below, the glass towers of the Ritz-Carlton at Elizabeth Quay rising up and peeking through the trees. There is a chance of rain this weekend, I can't wait! Happy weekend, take care and stay safe..

You do such a great job of showing us the beauty of your wonderful city! I love these photos. It looks like the Ritz Carlton would be a great place to stay!
ReplyDeleteI hope you get some rain!
These are great kangaroos, no fighting there. Love your beautiful city.
ReplyDeleteReading about the fires there Grace, scary stuff.
ReplyDeleteI LOVE those kangaroos, Grace! It looks so nice to see the green trees and grass when today we are heading back into a deep freeze after a couple of days above 0˚C.
ReplyDeleteLove those kanga sculptures. Always interesting to see old and new juxtaposed next to each other. Stay cool!
ReplyDelete...thanks Grace, this is something that I'll never see there!
ReplyDeleteHope you get some rain for that thirsty kangaroo; it looks as though he just can't reach the water! Such a spacious clean city.
ReplyDeleteLove the kangaroo sculptures, they are quite tall and impressive. Hope the fire in Perth is not affecting you. With the heat and smoke it must be hard to breathe.
ReplyDeleteCold here too. Honolulu won't reach 74f today. Brrr!
ReplyDeleteDearest Grace,
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely sculptures those are; so realistic and well done.
Got to view kangaroos in person while in Australia for our work, but this is superb.
Hugs,
Mariette
One of the best parts of your city as I remember.
ReplyDeleteI wonder what dogs think of those statues. There's a dog statue here- I've seen some dogs seem curious about it, and others showing that they really don't like it.
ReplyDeleteThe third photo with two people under the tree. Sort of reminds me of a yellow pine.
ReplyDeleteStay safe and coffee is on
Oh, boy, I kinda ignored you see the towers shining through, Grace.
ReplyDeleteSeems I still have not really made peace with Elizabeth Quay totally 🤣
But wee. Even though only 0C and dark at 06-something a.m. I sure long for the ice cream they have there, sweet 🦷 is waking up! Have one for me? 🍦
Beautiful , Loved all clicks.
