Walking along James Street in Northbridge around lunchtime on Wednesday there were too many delicious food cooking aromas making it impossible to ignore the tummy rumbles :) We were tempted into Old Shanghai where I enjoyed steaming hot noodles, chilli chicken and stir fried vegetables, so good! It was busier than it looks and of course not as many tables as usual because of you know what. What is your favourite Asian food, or are you not a fan? Happy Friday, take care and stay safe..
...Asian feed is something that I rarely eat.
ReplyDeleteHello Grace,
ReplyDeleteNice pictures.
A cozy place to eat. Lovely.
Greetings, Marco
Looks interesting to go get something to eat, I notice one Chinese restaurant in the next town and folded in these times only the takeaways are still operating
ReplyDeleteI don't eat bats. Looks like a great place to eat.
ReplyDeleteI like most Chinese food. We have a Chinese Buffet in Cambridge which, judging by the number of Chinese people who frequent it, must be fairly authentic. I wonder if it will still be operating once you-know-what has gone you-know-where.
ReplyDeleteDearest Grace,
ReplyDeleteHaving lived and worked more than 3 years in Indonesia, we of course loved that food. Our boss would take us to dinner in Jakarta at an authentic Thai restaurant that I very much loved; the hotter the better.
Also spicy South Indian fare we both enjoyed for over 10 years while working there and Japanese I love.
Funny the title Old Shanghai as tomorrow my new iMac will arrive from Shanghai... looks like anything is made over there nowadays!
Hugs,
Mariette
Cela donne particulièrement envie. For my part I have a preference for Thai cuisine which is very subtly fragrant, very low fat, and offers a wide variety of flavors.
ReplyDeleteThere is a Thai place down the street that is pretty good but we can't eat out here - only takeout.
ReplyDeleteMarvelous! I adore Asian. Lucky Hawaii is rich in it!
ReplyDeleteI love Thai food and red curry. Now I want some. :)
ReplyDeleteI have to admit, I'm not a fan of Asian food.
ReplyDeleteLots of lucky red in the photos.
ReplyDeleteSteamed hot noodles sounds delicious. Love the sign on this restaurant.
ReplyDeleteI see they have Dim Sum, that's a favorite of mine but I always tend to eat too much. It's also one of those things you can't do on your own. You really need at least two people but with Dim Sum, the more the merrier.
ReplyDeleteStir fried vegetables for me please. Asian food is my favourite.
ReplyDeleteThat's actually my favourite type of food, usually Japanese but I'll eat any type of asian food, must be the chinese filipino ancestry in our family coming out.
ReplyDeleteSadly all Asian restaurants here ... icky! I´d so love´d to have Bami Goreng (hot) with proper sticks, but it tastes like nothing - twice!
ReplyDeleteGlad you found a good one and enjoyed, Grace.
Reckon I need to cook myself. And now I think I even can 😀
I like Asian food too.
ReplyDeleteNice pictures Grace. I like Chinese food, the sweet and sour pork is my favourite.
